What do the terms "approved" and "rejected" refer to

Summary
Q.
I am uncomfortable about buying from (or selling to) strangers. What
should I do?
A.
You are absolutely right to be uncomfortable about dealing with
strangers. In fact, we recommend that many individuals do not
participate in commercial sections for just this reason. For those who
do participate, you may limit your activities to certain persons /
organizations / groups / etc. which your independent research shows may
be trustworthy. Remember, however, that all transactions / activities
(including offering / requesting / buying / selling / sending /
receiving / providing / contacts / correspondence / payments / shipping
/ transfers / events / etc.) involve risk. If you can't afford to or
don't want to take such risks, you should not participate. Should you
experience problems, you may attempt to work them out with the other
party. As applicable, you may notify law enforcement or seek other legal
remedies. Remember also that use of this site is at your own risk. We

additional risks to buyers.

| Question
Summary
Q.
The advertiser requires a payment by cash. What should I do?
A.
If the advertiser requires payment by cash, you should carefully
consider whether or not to proceed with the transaction. It may be wise
to consider whether or not this is a typical business practice,
especially considering the circumstances (e.g. type of merchant,
industry type, type of products, etc.). You should also consider the
special risks this may entail for you (e.g. proving you paid for the
product, proving you are the legal owner of the product, proving taxes
were paid, etc.). If you do proceed with the purchase using cash, be
sure to obtain an appropriate receipt.

| Question
Summary
Q.
If I am buying (or selling) an item, should I provide my home or work
address?
A.
Wherever possible, we recommend not providing any address. If you must
provide an address, you should independently research the other party
before providing them with this (or any other personal) information. To
help protect your personal information, we recommend using a P.O. Box
rather than a street address. Even so, providing of any address (even a
P.O. Box) involves risk and you may receive unwanted communications
and/or be subject to other unwanted items (including personal visits,
anti-Catholic literature, harassment, encounters with those who have an
intent to harm or deceive, etc.), and/or others may use your information
in ways unsuitable/harmful to you. If you choose to provide a home or
work address, the decision of which one to provide is up to you. Before
you do so, you should carefully consider whether any unwanted
communications or other items are likely to be more harmful at home or
at work. Remember that participation in any transactions / activities
(including offering / requesting / buying / selling / sending /
receiving / providing / contacts / correspondence / payments / shipping
/ transfers / events / etc.) may be dangerous. Proceed at your own risk.
If you do not want to - or cannot afford to - take such risks, you
should not participate.

| Question
Summary
Q.
How do I know that the other party will do what they are supposed to do?
A.
Unfortunately, you may never be sure that the other party will live up
to their responsibilities. For best results, you should take appropriate
advance precautions to help ensure that the other party lives up to
their responsibilities (e.g. researching the buying/selling party,
contacting them by phone, confirming their contact information, etc.).
Remember that all transactions / activities (including offering /
requesting / buying / selling / sending / receiving / providing /
contacts / correspondence / payments / shipping / transfers / events /
etc.), involve risk. If you can't afford to or don't want to take such
risks, you should not participate. Should you experience problems, you
may attempt to work them out with the other party. As applicable, you
may notify law enforcement or seek other legal remedies. Remember that

| Question
Summary
Q.
Should I require advance payment or allow buyers to pay after receipt of
the goods or services?
A.
The terms of all transfers are up to the parties involved and are
governed by applicable laws. You should carefully consider all aspects
of your transfer before engaging in any transaction. For example, if you
allow the other party to pay after receiving goods or services, what
will happen if they never pay? If you want advance payment, why should
the other person trust you enough to send you funds in advance? You
should reflect on these and other issues before participating in any
transfers. Remember that all participation is at your own risk.

| Question
Summary
Q.
If I allow a buyer to pay after the receipt of goods or services, how
can I be sure I will be paid?
A.
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that you will receive payment. As
indicated, commercial activities involve risks. It is quite possible
that you may never be paid for your products or services. That's one
reason why we recommend extra caution and prudence with regard to
commercial sections. Remember that we cannot guarantee that you will
receive any payment or guarantee anything else about any transaction /
activity (including offering / requesting / buying / selling / sending /
receiving / providing / contacts / correspondence / payments / shipping
/ transfers / events / etc.) and we do not mediate disputes. Proceed at
your own risk.

| Question
Summary
Q.
If I pay before receiving goods/services/etc., how can I be sure I will
ever receive them (or that they will be as described)?
A.
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that you will receive the goods or
services (or that they will be as described). As indicated, commercial
activities involve risks. It is quite possible that you may pay in
advance for items and never receive them (or a refund) or that you may
receive them but they may not be as described. That's one reason why we
recommend extra caution and prudence with regard to commercial
transactions. Remember that we cannot guarantee that you will receive
any item, or that items received will be as described, nor can we
guarantee anything else about any transaction / activity (including
offering / requesting / buying / selling / sending / receiving /

| Question
Summary
Q.
I received the other party's payment in advance. Should I send the item
out (or perform the service) immediately?
A.
All transfers involve risk and the terms of all transfers are up to the
parties involved (and are governed by applicable laws). Note that it may
be wise (as permitted by law and agreed to by both parties) to wait for
a check/money order to clear before sending items/performing services.

| Question
Summary
Q.
Why do you allow questionable advertisers to advertise? Why might you
allow ads for questionable products / services / etc.?
A.
Although we would prefer not to allow questionable advertisers to
advertise or ads to appear for questionable products / services / etc.,
it is not possible for us to limit this site to worthy advertisers /
products / services / etc. Not only is it impossible for us to evaluate
advertisers / products / services / etc., the law may not allow us to
limit our public advertising to certain advertisers / products /
services / etc. Even "worthy advertisers" (and worthy
products and services) are not perfect and any organization is subject
to change over time. And since our main focus is the Catholic content of
this site, not evaluating advertisers or products / services / etc., we
must limit ourselves to being satisfied that the actual content of ads
themselves is not offensive (which is our goal, but not a guarantee).
Furthermore, note that since paid third party advertisements should appear only in
commercial areas of this site, they should not interfere with the
Catholic content of this site. Also, note that we recommend that users
are research products / services / advertisers / organizations / groups
/ institutions / schools / religious orders / charities / businesses /
providers / employers / individuals / websites / publications / messages
/ activities / events / offers / offerers / requests / requestors /
sellers / buyers / manufacturers / distributors / authors / publishers /
submitters / items / etc. independently before participation and to use
great caution when participating in any transaction / activity
(including offering / requesting / buying / selling / sending /
receiving / providing / contacts / correspondence / payments / shipping
/ transfers / events / etc.). Remember that we cannot guarantee accuracy
of any information, Catholicity of any item / individual / organization
/ etc., or make any other guarantee(s) regarding any item(s) appearing
in commercial sections. Finally, note that inclusion of products /
services / ads / advertisers / organizations / groups / institutions /
schools / religious orders / charities / businesses / providers /
employers / individuals / websites / publications / messages /
information / instructions / opinions / activities / events / offers /
offerers / requests / requestors / sellers / buyers / manufacturers /
distributors / authors / publishers / submitters / items / etc. does not
imply our endorsement.

sending/receiving, payments, shipping, contacts / correspondence, etc.)?
