While this site offers you the opportunity to do business with fellow Catholics and others, it is prudent to take precautions to protect yourself (whether you are advertising or responding to ads).

Consider the following:

• We strongly urge you to protect all personal information! We warn against providing any personal information (both on this site and in e-mail & other correspondence). NEVER give out - or ask for - personal information such as social security numbers, driver's license numbers, identification numbers, mother's maiden name, children's names, pet's name, medical information, etc. You should use great caution regarding giving out credit card numbers and address information. You should also carefully avoid disclosing any identifying information or personal information that should be kept private (i.e. personal details, information about one's sins, personal matters, etc.). Note that even your name is personal information! By disclosing any personal information, you may put yourself and your loved ones at risk.

• Set terms / limits in advance [i.e. shipping methods, pricing, time/distance limits, what to do in case of injury/damage/problem, etc., who pays what expenses (where applicable), payment methods / payment arrangements, how will refunds / returns / exchanges / etc. be handled, etc.]. Be sure to settle jurisdictional matters in advance.

• Consider talking with the other party on the phone prior to selling to / buying from them. Remember, however, that if you provide your phone number, you may receive unwanted or harassing calls.

• Consider utilizing a post office box to help protect your personal information.

• Avoid buying/selling one-of-a-kind items, sentimental items, hard to replace items, etc. Don't transfer items you can't afford to lose.

• Don't mail cash!

• Become familiar with and do not break any applicable laws.

• Think it through - What do you expect from the other party? What will you do if the other party doesn't perform their responsibilities properly? What actions can you take to reduce your risk? How can you be certain the other party is who they say they are? How can you be certain that addresses are valid and belong to the intended party? Should you limit your dealings to certain locations (e.g. U.S. only)? Can you lawfully restrict who you deal with? What happens if a shipment is delayed? What happens if an article is lost, damaged, misused, etc.? What if other problems occur? Do you have adequate insurance? How can you protect yourself / your loved ones / your possessions / your personal information, etc.?...

• What happens if an item is not delivered / misdelivered / late / misaddressed?... What if the item is received but is unsatisfactory?

• Will you be responsible for all taxes, fees, etc. (as applicable)?

• What if someone is injured while performing a service for you or injures someone else?... Who would be held responsible?...

• What if a party is injured by a transferred item?... Would you be held responsible?... Would they?...

• Does the other party have any special needs or will they require any special accommodations? Are these acceptable to both parties? What steps might you be required to take by law to accommodate certain persons? Can you afford such accommodations?

• What if you discovered that an individual / organization / etc. misrepresented/lied about a product / service / etc. or about their skills or previous experience or about anything else?

• If you provide or receive services, will you be held responsible should something break / become damaged, etc.? What if the other party isn't happy with your work? Will you redo it? Will you be required to pay someone else to redo it?...

• Should you ask for the other party's contact information? Work phone number? Fax? E-mail address? Copy of individual's weekly parish envelope (for Catholics - e.g. parish envelope pre-printed with their name/address)?... Should you verify any information? If you are asked for such information, should you provide it?... Does your parish envelope contain private information?... Would you require that items you provide be sent back to you?...

• What happens if the other party never ships the item(s) you paid for or you don't receive them?... What happens if they are broken or lost in transit?... If you shipped the item(s), would you be expected to reimburse the other party if they were lost or damaged? Would you be expected to replace them? Should you insure items mailed?... Should you obtain proof of mailing?... Should you require a signature upon delivery?... Who pays for this?... Can you prove you mailed item(s) to the other party's satisfaction?

• Should you document the condition of any item(s) transferred (e.g. with photographs)?

• Consider asking the other party for their parish / diocese information (if Catholic). You may want to request a parish bulletin.

• Should you request a copy of the other party's business card? If asked, are you willing to provide this information?

• Who will be responsible for any taxes or fees?

• What if a party is injured by a transferred item?... Would you be held responsible?... Would they?...

• Note that provided contact information, company information, pricing information, availability information, descriptive information, Catholic affiliation, advertisers' terms, and other information may be subjective / inaccurate, or may change at any time without prior notice, and that items may not be as described or may arrive inappropriately. Information appearing on the site may be the opinion of the submitter. There is no guarantee that you will receive any item(s) whatsoever at any given price.

• Before participating, you should carefully consider how you might distribute/accept items. If you receive many requests/offers, how can you lawfully choose? What if you receive more payments than you have items to sell... will you be required to return the payments at your own expense? Should you require a SASE?

• If you receive a payment / refund, what happens if a check bounces? Who will pay the bank fees? How might a bad check be replaced?...

• You should work out a detailed agreement between yourself and the other party(ies) in advance (preferably in writing). Remember that we are not a party to your transactions / activities (including offering / requesting / buying / selling / sending / receiving / providing / contacts / correspondence / payments / shipping / transfers / events / advertising / browsing of ads / performance of services / receipt of services / etc.), even if information about such transactions / activities is contained on our site (or other materials of ours), and we do not get involved in your dealings with others or mediate disputes.

• Before utilizing the services of others, you should be sure that they are capable of performing all necessary functions, that they understand all instructions, and that they have all necessary tools/materials, etc.

• Be extremely careful with resume information! We do not endorse / recommend any employer / employee, nor can we guarantee the accuracy of any information concerning employers / employees, Catholicity of any employer / employee, or make any other guarantee(s) regarding any item(s) appearing in commercial sections. Users are advised to research employers / individuals / etc. independently before participation in any transaction / activity (including submission of a resume, contacting of an employer or employee, etc.) and to use great caution when participating in any transaction / activity.

• Before participating, you should carefully consider how you might choose who to obtain products and/or services from and who to provide products and/or services to... How can you be certain that the submitter / requestor / offerer / etc. is who they say they are?... How can you know whether or not they are trustworthy and willing/able to do what they say?... Is it lawful to set age limits (e.g. no minors) or require certain physical traits (e.g. strength of a service provider) or to restrict your buying / selling to those of a certain religion? If you receive many requests/offers, how can you lawfully choose?

• Users are warned that some may attempt to abuse commercial section(s)/area(s) in various ways. We are not responsible for any abuses, even if we become aware of them and take no action (or if we take ineffective, insufficient, or otherwise unsuitable action) to stop them or to reduce their occurrence or to mitigate their damage.

• As the other party may not actually have an item indicated in their ad, it may be wise to ask for proof that they actually have the item before you send a money order, provide an address, etc.

• Although our goal is for this site to be "safe", users are cautioned that we cannot guarantee that any products / services / ads / advertisers / organizations / groups / institutions / schools / religious orders / charities / businesses / providers / employers / individuals / websites / publications / messages / information / instructions / assistance / opinions / points of view / activities / events / offers / offerers / requests / requestors / sellers / buyers / manufacturers / distributors / authors / publishers / submitters / users / responders / transferors / vendors / recipients / sponsors / items / etc. whatsoever who listed here (or who may otherwise use this site or related materials) are beneficial or "safe". • You should be especially cautious about dealing with unknown persons / organizations / groups / charities / businesses / etc. and you should carefully consider how you can protect yourself, your loved ones, your possessions, etc. Remember that participation in any transaction / activity (including offering / requesting / buying / selling / sending / receiving / providing / contacts / correspondence / payments / shipping / transfers / events / advertising / responding to ads / performance & receipt of services / etc.) is at your own risk. We are not a party to your transactions / activities and we do not mediate disputes.

• Note that we do not endorse / recommend any individual(s) / organization(s) / group(s) / institution(s) / school(s) / religious order(s) / charity(ies) / business(es) / employer(s) / provider(s) / submitter(s) / etc. who may advertise here or who may contact you regarding your ad(s). What if the service provider is unable to begin/complete the work (especially if this occurs after you have paid them)? What if the service provider does a poor quality job / makes a mistake / breaks the law? What if the service provider damages / destroys / steals / breaks something or injures himself /herself or others?...

• Service providers should be sure to get clear instructions before performing any work and should be sure to have available all necessary tools / materials / etc. (and they should be certain all such tools / materials / etc. are adequate).

• All parties should verify that all transactions / activities can be performed legally before participating in them. Do not participate in any transaction / activity which is unlawful - even if you are asked to do so.

• Remember that advertisements (and responses to advertisements) may contain varying degrees of truthfulness. We cannot guarantee truthfulness or accuracy of any information, Catholicity of any item / individual / organization / etc., or make any other guarantee(s) regarding any item(s) appearing in commercial section. You should independently research products / services / advertisers / organizations / groups / institutions / schools / religious orders / charities / businesses / providers / employers / individuals / websites / publications / messages / activities / events / offers / offerers / requests / requestors / sellers / buyers / manufacturers / distributors / authors / publishers / submitters / items / etc. independently before participation and to use great caution when participating in any transaction / activity (including offering / requesting / buying / selling / sending / receiving / providing / contacts / correspondence / payments / shipping / transfers / events / performance & receipt of services / etc.).

• Commercial transactions / activities are on a voluntary basis which (unless otherwise agreed) may be terminated by any party at any time (as permitted by law).

• Information appearing in the commercial sections (including pricing / availability / terms information, contact information, company information, product / service information, descriptive information, Catholic affiliation, comments / messages / opinions / etc.), is provided by users, is not verified, may vary, is subject to change at any time without notice, may not be comprehensive / may omit important details, may not match label(s) / description(s), may be subjective / inaccurate, and is not endorsed / recommended by us. Note that we cannot guarantee categorization of any information / advertisement / message / etc., accuracy / truthfulness of any information / advertisement / message / etc., or make any other guarantees concerning any item whatsoever which may appear in a commercial section(s).

• We strongly recommend that you refrain from requesting assistance with (or assisting in) activities involving delicate / fragile / sensitive / expensive / sentimental / rare / antique / one-of-a-kind / hard to find / difficult or costly to replace, etc. items or near cash/cash equivalents, easily stolen items, sensitive information, etc. You should also use extreme caution around vulnerable / frail / infirm, etc. persons.

• Ads (and sponsorships) on this site are not limited to Catholics and we cannot guarantee that any advertiser(s) / user(s) / sponsor(s) adhere to Christian principles.

• Whenever possible and appropriate we recommend making payments by a private money order (e.g. to protect your personal information / banking information / etc.), denominated in U.S. currency. Also consider, if you pay by money order, how much might this cost you?

• Should you require/provide payment in advance? If so, how much should you require/provide?... Should you require reimbursement for expenses?.. What if you do not receive it? ... If you send a payment, how do you know the other party will receive the funds? How do you know they will use the funds properly (e.g. for agreed upon costs)? If they do not, how can the sender be certain they will be reimbursed?... Can you remit funds by private money order (to protect privacy)? Do not mail cash! What if the payment is lost? Who would be responsible for stop payment fees (as applicable)?... What happens if a check bounces? Who would be responsible for bank fees? How might a bad check be replaced?... What if someone is supposed to hold a check, but instead cashes it?... What if the other party spends more to ship an item (at your expense) than they needed to or otherwise overcharges for shipping?... What if the shipping costs amount to more than the item is worth?... Should you obtain proof of mailing for payments / refunds?... Should you require a signature upon delivery?... Who pays for this?... Remember that all arrangements should be specific, detailed, and agreed to in advance by all applicable parties (preferably in writing and containing appropriate original signatures).

• Does the sending / receiving party have any special shipping instructions or needs? Are these acceptable to both parties? What if items are shipped improperly / misaddressed / lost / never received / etc.?

• We recommend limiting your use of the commercial sections (e.g. taking out ads, responding to ads) to one or a few at a time to reduce risk.

• Ads that appear on the site may appear for any length of time, even longer or shorter than the indicated target cycle (e.g. from 0 days to multiples of a target cycle, at our sole option, for any reason whatsoever). We may display ads on the site even though they are past their indicated 'end dates', however we reserve the right to stop displaying ads beyond indicated 'end dates'. Note that we recommend that advertisers include an "end date" in the applicable field to notify users not to contact them after that date. Unfortunately, however, there is no guarantee that they will not be contacted after that time. Note that ads may appear on the site for a long time and that we cannot honor requests to remove ads which are no longer applicable (unless ad deletions for the ad in question are specifically allowed - e.g. at the advertiser's request). Also note that advertisers are free to change / revoke their offers at any time, regardless of any indicated 'end date' (e.g. by notifying interested parties - not us - that their offers have been changed / revoked).

• Senders should verify that they are sending item(s) directly to the appropriate party(ies) and that the recipients are capable of receiving/utilizing the item(s) lawfully (e.g. no minors).

• Senders should be especially careful regarding transferred items. Remember that if there is a problem with a transferred item, you alone may be held personally liable for all consequences / damages / etc.. 

• You should employ special caution regarding products / services / schools / websites / organizations / groups / institutions / charities / religious orders / churches / businesses / providers / advertisers / publications / activities / events / items / etc. labeled 'Catholic'. Remember that we cannot guarantee accuracy of any information, Catholicity of any item / individual / organization / etc., or make any other guarantee(s) regarding any item(s) appearing in commercial sections. Even if a product / service / school / website / organization / group / institution / charity / religious order / church / business / provider / advertiser / publication / activity / event / item / etc. is, technically speaking, 'Catholic', you should use caution that they are not "infected with modernism".

• We do not guarantee that any ad(s) will appear on the site, how long any ad(s) may appear on the site, how ad(s) appearing on the site may be ordered or displayed, that anyone will receive/provide any product(s)/service(s)/etc., or guarantee anything else about any product / service / ad / advertiser / organization / group / institution / school / religious order / charity / business / provider / employer / individual / website / publication / message / information / instruction / assistance / opinion / point of view / activity / event / offer / offerer / request / requestor / seller / buyer / manufacturer / distributor / author / publisher / submitter / item / etc.

Processing fees are non-refundable.

• Contact the postal service or other appropriate carrier to inquire about rates, special pricing for certain item(s) (e.g. printed matter), and for other mailing assistance.

• Transfers of funds or other items may not be deductible, even if given for charitable reasons. The IRS may require that donations be made to qualified charities to be deductible. If you give or receive items (including products & services), you may be responsible for paying tax (including sales tax, as applicable). For example: The other party may not do what they say or otherwise may fail to live up to their commitments; Products/services may not be as indicated or promised; Items may never be received; Items received may be inappropriate / unsafe; You may be charged for more than the item is worth; Items received may turn out to be anti-Catholic or against Church teachings; The other party might not be who they say they are; Offers/requests may be cancelled or changed unexpectedly; Parties may receive differing treatment; The other party may disclose your personal information; Offers/requests may be inappropriate; You may be exposed to insult, ridicule, disparaging comments, etc. or may be questioned about beliefs, etc.; Items received may be in unexpected or poor condition or may cause injury; The other party may be dangerous or may associate with others who are dangerous; The other party may continue engaging in unwanted communications (including e-mail, personal visits, phone calls, etc.); The other party may lie / be offensive / break the law / hurt someone / etc.; Offers / requests / events / activities / etc. may be changed / cancelled even after payment has been made; Products may malfunction; Service providers may be incompetent; Payments may never be received; Etc... Reminder: Participation in any transactions / activities (including offering / requesting / buying / selling / sending / receiving / providing / contacts / correspondence / payments / shipping / transfers / events / requesting ads / browsing of ads / performance & receipt of services / etc.), is at your own risk. Should you experience problems, you may attempt to work them out with the other party. As applicable, you may notify law enforcement or seek other legal remedies. Remember that we are not a party to others' transactions / activities and we do not mediate disputes. You are solely responsible for all consequences of your transactions / activities.

• We advise users to research products / services / advertisers / organizations / groups / institutions / schools / religious orders / charities / businesses / providers / employers / individuals / websites / publications / messages / activities / events / offers / offerers / requests / requestors / sellers / buyers / manufacturers / distributors / authors / publishers / submitters / items / etc. independently before participation and to use great caution when participating in any transaction / activity (including offering / requesting / buying / selling / sending / receiving / providing / contacts / correspondence / payments / shipping / transfers / events / etc.). If you do not want to take such risks (or cannot afford to), you should not participate.

• You may not revoke (or change) your ad(s) online. However, you may terminate (or change) your offer/request/etc. (as allowed) by notifying individuals who contact you that it has been changed or revoked (where permitted by law and as allowed under our terms). Note: Those who cancel or change offers / requests / etc. prior to indicated 'end dates' frequently may be banned from future advertising on this site.

• You should participate only in activities you can safely and lawfully complete. You should not participate in or agree to participate in any hazardous/dangerous, etc. activity/event, etc., or any activity/event, etc. that you are uncomfortable about, or in any activities which are beyond your ability (considering your skills/time available/available materials/constraints, etc.). You should also be certain that the location of all events/activities, etc. is safe.

• You should be especially careful to protect the safety of all those you are responsible for and for their valuables/possessions.

• If you participate in commercial section(s), you may receive unwanted communications and/or you may receive or be subject to other unwanted items (including personal visits, anti-Catholic literature, harassment, encounters with those who have an intent to harm or deceive, etc.) and/or others may use your information in ways unsuitable/harmful to you. Proceed at your own risk.

• Unless otherwise specifically allowed, no images / symbols / html text / etc.

• No excess punctuation / all capital letters / grammatical errors / unknown or excess abbreviations / etc.

• No requests/offers for/messages concerning/etc. prohibited items (e.g. weapons, pharmaceuticals, illegal items, controlled substances, sexual / immoral / illicit items, anti-Catholic items, distasteful / inappropriate items, items unlawful to mail/ship, etc.). • No "modernist", unorthodox, "feminist", "charismatic", anti-Catholic, "new age", etc. items/activities, or items which seek to have traditional Church teachings changed, or which adhere to / promote any kind of questionable orthodoxy.

• No items / ads endorsing "illicit", Sedevacantist, or schismatic (as defined by the Holy See) activities / organizations, etc.

• If your company name does not meet the guidelines of this site, do not request any ads which include the name of your company.

• You may not request any changes to any ad(s). Therefore, you should be careful that your ad request / ad content submission is correct / complete / etc. prior to submission.

• We cannot provide you with lost order numbers or other information which may be required in connection with your ad request(s) / ad content submission(s) / deletion request(s) / renewal request(s) / etc. You alone are responsible for retaining such information [including all applicable information regarding method of payment, dates paid, date ad content submitted, amount paid, information provided, order number, renewal number, renewal date(s), etc.]. Note that you should keep a printed copy of this information as well as a computer text copy of such information (you should copy/paste all information from confirmation forms into a .txt file and keep a printed copy as either or both may be required for various actions). • The payment of an ad processing fee does not entitle you to correspondence with or from us. We are not required to notify you of the receipt of / disposition of / etc. your ad request(s) or of the status of your ad request(s) or to answer questions or otherwise correspond with you concerning your ad(s) / ad request(s) / ad content submission(s) / deletion request(s) / renewal request(s) / sponsorship request(s) / etc. Any such correspondence that we receive may be subject to auto rejection. Any other correspondence that doesn't meet our guidelines / rules / etc. (or any other correspondence) may also be subject to auto rejection for any reason whatsoever.

• We may require the submission of all requested ad content online (unless specifically allowed - e.g. for some Sponsorships).

• Ad content submission(s) must be completed within the specified time frame and according to all our instructions. Any content submissions which do not properly meet all our guidelines or which leave us with questions may result in a processed but unscheduled ad (if so, the advertiser may be charged even though no ad appears on the site).

• We do not guarantee that any element of your ad request (including web addresses, contact information, or any other information) will appear on this site. If your ad request included a web address (or other information) that is not included on the displayed ad, you may not request a change or seek a refund. We may add/delete/change any element of an ad request for any reason whatsoever at our sole discretion without any recourse. 

• All ad content (including categorization) is subject to change / deletion / additions / etc. at our sole option with no recourse. We may make change(s) if your requested ad content has or seems to have an error(s) or make changes for any other reason(s). Note that changes may significantly affect your ad (including appearance / ordering / etc., removal of web address or contact information, etc.). Remember that we are not required to notify you of any changes, provide reasons(s) for any changes, correspond with you regarding any changes, answer questions regarding any changes, etc., and you may not appeal our decision(s). • You may not request deletion of ads unless specifically allowed. We make no guarantees regarding deletion of ads (including whether or not ads will be deleted, how long it may take for ads to be deleted, when ads may be deleted, whether or not deletion of ads is permanent, etc.).

• No refunds or credits on ad processing fees, regardless of whether or ad(s) are ever displayed on the site (or regardless of how they may appear / how long they may appear / what content is displayed / etc.).
