We've (finally!) updated the devotions info./resources page. Note that this page was created early in the site's history, before Topic Pages were introduced. Therefore, Topic Pages were not included for each applicable item. We have addressed this issue, adding various links to Topic Pages. We apologize that it took so long for this update.

links to the Catholic Links section. We've also noted that the Vatican
Secret Archives may now be called the Vatican Apostolic Archives.

More Search Engine Improvements
We are completing the
first major update to our new search engine since its introduction. You
may notice the following improvements to the new search page: increased
length of description for results, inclusion of previously skipped
words, increased text size on message, expanded number of recommended
links, expanded number synonyms, added recommended link for each book of
bible (to the Catholic Bible Quotes Topic Page), expanded descriptions
on recommended links, added indirect searching of some databased
content, removed ? wildcard for better results, increased spacing
between results, minor rewording/page appearance improvements, expanded
'no found records' message, variety of changes to keywords/rankings for
improved results, etc.
We are working on
improving the results from our new search engine and we are particularly
excited about one recent change that we have made. As you may know, this
site is driven by a number of independent databases and unfortunately
these databases cannot all be searched together. However, we have come
up with a 'work around' that may allow some indirect searching of
content from applicable databases on our new search page. The solution
isn't perfect as it does not cover all databased content and it requires
the user to input search criteria on the search page and also on the
applicable results page(s). However, we hope the benefits of this 'work
around' will outweigh the possible inconvenience. [Note: This change
is limited to our new search page ONLY. The old search page cannot
search through any databased content, even indirectly.]
We have added a 'share
your thoughts' feedback box to the side border. You can use this box to
send us feedback. Simply enter your feedback and press the button to
submit.
Reminder: All feedback is subject to our terms of use. For more
information, please click

BIG Book of Latin Activities For Catholics
Beginning - Intermediate (Vol. 1)
"Suitable For Children Or
Adults!" ~ "Perfect For Home Schoolers!"
+ + +
As many faithful Catholics already know,
the majestic
Latin language – the 'official language' of the Catholic Church –
promotes unity, helps safeguard the purity of doctrine, connects us with
our Catholic ancestors, allows us to pray in "one voice", and even ties
back to the inscription on the Cross which was written in Hebrew, Latin,
and Greek. The Latin language is still used today in the precious
treasure that is the
Traditional Latin ('Tridentine') Mass, in 'everyday speech' (much of
English is derived from Latin), in mottos, in specialized fields, and in
educational endeavors. It has been shown that the study of Latin brings
many benefits. "And, Latin is truly the language of heaven!"
If you enjoy Latin, you may be glad to know that
this full-sized (8.5" x 11"), tradition-minded publication features an
assortment of activity types related to Latin (including: word searches,
crosswords, coloring activities, challenges, fill-ins, spelling bee,
quizzes, unscrambles, true/false, multiple choice, matching, cross-offs,
circling, word associations, translation exercises, and more...), and
treats of various topics (including: common Latin words, Latin language
facts, Latin grammar, nouns & verbs, abbreviations,
phrases / sayings / mottos, prefixes, cardinal numbers, grammatical gender,
inflection, word roots, diacritics / accenting, pronunciation, Latin
prayers / hymns, Scripture verses, Catholic phrases, and more...).
