Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, through all eternity!
Let all the people say, Amen! Alleluia. [1CHRON 16:36]
Then David blessed the LORD in the presence of the whole
assembly, praying in these words: "Blessed may you be, O
LORD, God of Israel our father, from eternity to eternity." [1CHRON
29:10]

forever. Amen. Amen. [PS 41:14]
"By my holiness I swore once for all: I will never be false to David.
His dynasty will continue forever, his throne, like the sun before me.
Like the moon it will stand eternal, forever firm like the sky!"
[Taken from PS 89:36-38]
Before the mountains were born, the earth and the world brought
forth, from eternity to eternity you are God. [PS 90:2]
Though the wicked flourish like grass and all sinners thrive,
They are destined for eternal destruction; for you, LORD, are forever on high.
[PS 92:8-9]
How precious to me are your designs, O God; how vast the sum of them!
Were I to count, they would outnumber the sands; to finish, I would need eternity. [PS 139:17-18]
For [wisdom] is the refulgence of eternal light, the spotless mirror
of the power of God, the image of his goodness. [Taken from WISDOM 7:26]
For great are your judgments, and hardly to be described; therefore the unruly souls were wrong. For when the lawless thought to enslave the holy nation, shackled with darkness, fettered by the long night, they lay confined beneath their own roofs as exiles from the eternal providence. For they who supposed their secret sins were hid under the dark veil of oblivion
Were scattered in fearful trembling, terrified by apparitions. [WISDOM
17:1-3]
The sand of the seashore, the drops of rain, the days of
eternity: who can number these? [SIRACH 1:2]
Before all things else wisdom was created; and prudent
understanding, from eternity. [SIRACH 1:4]
The Eternal is the judge of all things without exception; the
LORD alone is just. [SIRACH 18:1]
Like a drop of sea water, like a grain of sand, so are these
few years among the days of eternity. [SIRACH 18:8]
Thus it will be known to the very ends of the earth that you
are the eternal God. [SIRACH 36:17]
Perennial is his almighty wisdom; he is from all eternity one
and the same, With nothing added, nothing taken away; no need of a counselor for him!
[SIRACH 42:21-22]
Trust in the LORD forever! For the LORD is an eternal Rock.
[ISA 26:4]
Now come, write it on a tablet they can keep, inscribe it in a record;
That it may be in future days an eternal witness: This is a rebellious people, deceitful children,
Children who refuse to obey the law of the LORD. [ISA 30:8-9]
Do you not know or have you not heard? The LORD is the eternal
God, creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint nor grow
weary, and his knowledge is beyond scrutiny. [ISA 40:28]
It is I, I the LORD; there is no savior but me. It is I who foretold, I who saved; I made it known, not any strange god among you;
You are my witnesses, says the LORD. I am God, yes, from eternity I am He;
There is none who can deliver from my hand: who can countermand what I do?
[ISA 43:11-13]
For thus says the LORD: To the eunuchs who observe my sabbaths and choose what pleases me and hold fast to my covenant, I will give, in my house and within my walls, a monument and a name
Better than sons and daughters; an eternal, imperishable name will I give them.
[ISA 56:4-5]
For thus says he who is high and exalted, living eternally,
whose name is the Holy One: On high I dwell, and in holiness, and
with the crushed and dejected in spirit, To revive the spirits of
the dejected, to revive the hearts of the crushed. [ISA 57:15]
Whose glorious arm was the guide at Moses' right; Who divided
the waters before them, winning for himself eternal renown [Taken
from ISA 63:12]
The LORD is true God, he is the living God, the eternal King,
Before whose anger the earth quakes, whose wrath the nations
cannot endure [Taken from JER 10:10]
Behold, I will gather them together from all the lands to which in anger, wrath, and great rage I banish them; I will bring them back to this place and settle them here in safety.
They shall be my people, and I will be their God. One heart and one way I will give them, that they may fear me always, to their own good and that of their children after them.
I will make with them an eternal covenant, never to cease doing good to them; into their hearts I will put the fear of me, that they may never depart from me.
I will take delight in doing good to them: I will replant them firmly in this land, with all my heart and soul.
For thus says the LORD: Just as I brought upon this people all this great evil, so I will bring upon them all the good I promise them.
[JER 32:37-42]
I will make her princes and her wise men drunk, her governors,
her prefects, and her warriors, so that they sleep an eternal
sleep, never to awaken, says the King, whose name is the LORD of
hosts. [JER 51:57]
And I will establish for them, as an eternal covenant, that I
will be their God, and they shall be my people; and I will not
again remove my people Israel from the land I gave them. [BARUCH
2:35]
Wrapped in the cloak of justice from God, bear on your head the
mitre that displays the glory of the eternal name. [BARUCH 5:2]
Are you not from eternity, O LORD, my holy God, immortal? O
LORD you have marked him for judgment, O Rock, you have readied
him for punishment! [HAB 1:12]
If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it
away. It is better for you to enter into life maimed or crippled
than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into eternal fire.
[MT 18:8]
Now someone approached him and said, "Teacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?"
He answered him, "Why do you ask me about the good? There is only One who is good.
If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."
He asked him, "Which ones?" And Jesus replied, "'You shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother'; and 'you shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"
The young man said to him, "All of these I have observed. What do I still lack?"
Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to (the) poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
[MT 19:16-21]
And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or
father or mother or children or lands for the sake of my name will
receive a hundred times more, and will inherit eternal life. [MT
19:29]
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations
will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.' Then the righteous
will answer him and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?' And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.' Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.' Then they will answer and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?' He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.' And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
[MT 25:31-46]
As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before him, and asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
Jesus answered him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.
You know the commandments: 'You shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness;
you shall not defraud; honor your father and your mother.'" He replied and said to him, "Teacher, all of these I have observed from my youth."
Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said to him, "You are lacking in one thing. Go, sell what you have, and give to (the) poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me."
[MK 10:17-21]
Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel
who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come."
[MK 10:29-30]
Afterwards Jesus
himself, through them, sent forth from east to west the sacred and
imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation. Amen. [Taken from
MK 16:20]
There was a scholar of the law who stood up to test him and said, "Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?" He said in reply, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." He replied to him, "You have answered correctly; do this and you will live."
[LK 10:25-28]
I tell you, make friends for yourselves with dishonest wealth,
so that when it fails, you will be welcomed into eternal
dwellings. [LK 16:9]
An official asked him this question, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
Jesus answered him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.
You know the commandments, 'You shall not commit adultery; you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother.'"
And he replied, "All of these I have observed from my youth." When Jesus heard this he said to him, "There is still one thing left for you: sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven. Then come, follow
me." [LK
18:18-22]
He said to them, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God who will not receive (back) an overabundant return in this present age and eternal life in the age to come."
[LK 18:29-30]
"And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life." For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that
everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have
eternal life. [JN 3:14-16]
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever
disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains
upon him. [JN 3:36]
Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again;
but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
[JN 4:13-14]
Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of the one who sent me and to finish his work.
Do you not say, 'In four months the harvest will be here'? I tell you, look up and see the fields ripe for the harvest.
The reaper is already receiving his payment and gathering crops for eternal life, so that the sower and reaper can rejoice together."
[JN 4:34-36]
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes in
the one who sent me has eternal life and will not come to
condemnation, but has passed from death to life. [JN 5:24]
You search the scriptures, because you think you have eternal
life through them; even they testify on my behalf. [JN 5:39]
"Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that
endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For
on him the Father, God, has set his seal." [JN 6:27]
"For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the
Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise
him (on) the last day." [JN 6:40]
"Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the
bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died;
this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."
The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us (his) flesh to eat?"
Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.
This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever."
[JN 6:47-58]
As a result of this, many (of) his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him.
Jesus then said to the Twelve, "Do you also want to leave?" Simon Peter answered him, "Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."
[JN 6:66-68]
Jesus answered them, "I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in my Father's name testify to me.
But you do not believe, because you are not among my sheep. My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand."
[JN 10:22-28]
Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in
this world will preserve it for eternal life. [JN 12:25]
Jesus cried out and said, "Whoever believes in me believes not only in me but also in the one who sent me,
and whoever sees me sees the one who sent me. I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness.
And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them, I do not condemn him, for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world.
Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words has something to judge him: the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day,
because I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak.
And I know that his commandment is eternal life. So what I say, I say as the Father told me."
[JN 12:44-50]
When Jesus had said this, he raised his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you,
just as you gave him authority over all people, so that he may give eternal life to all you gave him.
Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ."
[JN 17:1-3]
Both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, "It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first, but since you reject it and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the
Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us, 'I have made you a light to the Gentiles, that you may be an instrument of salvation to the ends of the earth.'"
The Gentiles were delighted when they heard this and glorified the word of the Lord. All who were destined for eternal life came to believe,
and the word of the Lord continued to spread through the whole region.
[ACTS 13:46-49]
For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God made it evident to them.
Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a result, they have no excuse;
for although they knew God they did not accord him glory as God or give him thanks. Instead, they became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened.
[ROM 1:19-21]
We know that the judgment of God on those who do such things is true.
Do you suppose, then, you who judge those who engage in such things and yet do them yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God?
Or do you hold his priceless kindness, forbearance, and patience in low esteem, unaware that the kindness of God would lead you to repentance?
By your stubbornness and impenitent heart, you are storing up wrath for yourself for the day of wrath and revelation of the just judgment of God,
who will repay everyone according to his works: eternal life to those who seek glory, honor, and immortality through perseverance in good works,
but wrath and fury to those who selfishly disobey the truth and obey wickedness.
[ROM 2:2-8]
For if, by the transgression of one person, death came to reign through that one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of justification come to reign in life through the one person Jesus Christ.
In conclusion, just as through one transgression condemnation came upon all, so through one righteous act acquittal and life came to all.
For just as through the disobedience of one person the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of one the many will be made righteous. The law entered in
so that transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more,
so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through justification for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
[ROM 5:17-21]
For when you were slaves of sin, you were free from
righteousness. But what profit did you get then from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
But now that you have been freed from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit that you have leads to sanctification,
and its end is eternal life.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
[ROM 6:20-23]
For this momentary light affliction is producing for us an
eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to what is seen but to what is unseen; for what
is seen is transitory, but what is unseen is eternal. For we know that if our earthly dwelling, a tent, should be
destroyed, we have a building from God, a dwelling not made with
hands, eternal in heaven. [2COR 4:17-18,5:1]
Make no mistake: God is not mocked, for a person will reap only what he sows,
because the one who sows for his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows for the spirit will reap eternal life from the spirit.
Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up. So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all, but especially to those who belong to the family of the
faith.
[GAL 6:7-10]
To me, the very least of all the holy ones, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the inscrutable riches of Christ,
and to bring to light (for all) what is the plan of the mystery hidden from ages past in God who created all things,
so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the principalities and authorities
in the heavens.
This was according to the eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,
in whom we have boldness of speech and confidence of access through faith in him.
[EPH 3:8-12]
For it is surely just on God's part to repay with afflictions those who are afflicting you, and to grant rest along with us to you who are undergoing afflictions, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels, in blazing fire, inflicting punishment on those who do not acknowledge God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal ruin, separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power, when he comes to be glorified among his holy ones
and to be marveled at on that day among all who have believed, for our testimony to you was believed.
[2THES 1:6-10]
Compete well for the faith. Lay hold of eternal life, to which
you were called when you made the noble confession in the presence
of many witnesses. I charge (you) before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who gave testimony under Pontius Pilate for the noble confession,
to keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ
that the blessed and only ruler will make manifest at the proper time, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, and whom no human being has seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal power. Amen.
[1TM 6:12-16]
Therefore, I bear with everything for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, together with eternal glory.
This saying is trustworthy: If we have died with him we shall also live with him; if we persevere we shall also reign with him. But if we deny him he will deny us. If we are unfaithful he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself.
[2TM 2:10-13]
Paul, a slave of God and apostle of Jesus Christ for the sake of the faith of God's chosen ones and the recognition of religious truth,
in the hope of eternal life that God, who does not lie, promised before time began,
who indeed at the proper time revealed his word in the proclamation with which I was entrusted by the command of God our
savior [Taken from TI 1:1-3]
For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deluded, slaves to various desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful ourselves and hating one another.
But when the kindness and generous love of God our savior appeared, not because of any righteous deeds we had done but because of his mercy,
he saved us through the bath of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he richly poured out on us through Jesus Christ our savior, so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal
life. [TI 3:3-7]
Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered;
and when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,
declared by God high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.
[HEB 5:8-10]
Therefore, let us leave behind the basic teaching about Christ and advance to maturity, without laying the foundation all over again: repentance from dead works and faith in God,
instruction about baptisms and laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.
[HEB 6:1-2]
But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come to
be, passing through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by hands, that is, not belonging to this creation, he entered once for all into the
sanctuary [and] with his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption. For if the blood of
[lower sacrificial victims] sanctify those who are defiled so that their flesh is cleansed, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit
offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to worship the living God.
For this reason he is mediator of a new covenant: since a death has taken place for deliverance from transgressions under the first covenant, those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance.
[Adapted from HEB 9:11-15]
For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, virtue with knowledge,
knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with devotion,
devotion with mutual affection, mutual affection with love. If these are yours and increase in abundance, they will keep you from being idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Anyone who lacks them is blind and shortsighted, forgetful of the cleansing of his past sins.
Therefore, brothers, be all the more eager to make your call and election firm, for, in doing so, you will never stumble.
For, in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.
[2PT 1:5-11]
Therefore, beloved, since you are forewarned, be on your guard not to be led into the error of the unprincipled and to fall from your own stability.
But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory now and to the day of eternity. (Amen.)
[2PT 3:17-18]
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon and touched with our hands concerns the Word of
life - for the life was made visible; we have seen it and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was made visible to
us - what we have seen and heard we proclaim now to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; for our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
[1JN 1:1-3]
Let what you heard from the beginning remain in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, then you will remain in the Son and in the
Father. And this is the promise that he made us: eternal life.
[1JN 2:24-25]
Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that
no murderer has eternal life remaining in him. [1JN 3:15]
If we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is surely greater. Now the testimony of God is this, that he has testified on behalf of his Son.
Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar by not believing the testimony God has given about his Son.
And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Whoever possesses the Son has life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not have life.
I write these things to you so that you may know that you have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God.
[1JN 5:9-13]
We also know that the Son of God has come and has given us
discernment to know the one who is true. And we are in the one who
is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal
life. [1JN 5:20]
The angels too, who did not keep to their own domain but
deserted their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains, in
gloom, for the judgment of the great day. [JUDE 1:6]
Likewise, Sodom, Gomorrah, and the surrounding towns, which, in
the same manner as they, indulged in sexual promiscuity and
practiced unnatural vice, serve as an example by undergoing a
punishment of eternal fire. [JUDE 1:7]
Keep yourselves in the love of God and wait for the mercy of
our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. [JUDE 1:21]
