Free ads under our standard free ad offer may appear in the MCS Directory under the following categories: Catholic Churches, Catholic Organizations, Catholic Product Retailers, Catholic Services, and Catholic Vocations.

Who is Eligible For a Free Ad?

To be eligible for a free ad under our standard free ad offer, at least 95% of business (both $ and sales volume) must be derived from the indicated category. [Note: Catholic Churches & Catholic Vocations should derive 100% of their revenue from performing Church & Vocational activities.] Organizations / businesses / individuals / churches / etc. in full communion with the Holy See only. 

What Are Some Limitations on Free Ads?

Free ads under our standard free ad offer may be limited in terms of features / requirements / eligibility / availability / etc. Also, free ads may require advertisers to complete additional steps / provide additional information / etc. They are not renewable and advertisers may not request deletion of free ads. Note that an optional second (red) headline and other ad enhancements are not available on free listings. Free ads may have a longer processing time / may have a limited submission period / may be designated as "free" / may be given lower priority than paid ads / free ads may require information about funding sources / etc.

How Do Free Ads Work?

To request a free ad, the advertiser must complete a free ad request form, providing all required data, on the assigned day (see table below). As applicable, the advertiser may receive an e-mail within 90 days containing a submission number and a link to a content submission form on our site that must be completed at a specified time (your "appointment time") in order to complete the ad request (remember that our e-mail will not ask for personal information). Note that we require that all steps be completed properly, in a timely fashion, and according to our instructions in order for us to proceed with your request. Incomplete / inappropriate requests may be subject to auto-rejection (and those who submit them may be banned from future advertising on this site). When Can I Request a Free Ad?

Free ads under the standard free ad offer may ONLY be requested on the appropriate day. Those not submitted on the appropriate day may be subject to auto-rejection (and those who submit them may be banned from future advertising on this site). The following table indicates when requests may be allowed. [Note: Also try the Notices page and Site Update page for updated information, as applicable.]

How Can I Request a Free Ad?

After you have read all items herein (including all linked pages referred to above and all items below) and confirmed that you are eligible for a free ad, click here on your scheduled day (according to the above table) to complete the free ad request form. Do NOT complete this form if you do not qualify for a free ad or if it is not the assigned day for you to request a free ad (based on the table above). [Tip: Be sure to note the date you submit your request as this date may be required to complete the content submission form.]

Other Important Information

Note the following important information regarding our standard free ad offer:

* Do not submit more than one free ad request per eligible organization / individual per year. Excess requests may be subject to auto rejection and those who submit them may be banned from future advertising on this site.

* Free ads limited to those in the U.S. only.

* Free ad requests are for specifically Catholic ads (and not those which are generically 'Christian'). Free ads have to do with Catholic products and Catholic services - not to any product or service simply because it is provided by a Catholic. For example, a Catholic provider of books would not qualify for a free ad, whereas a Catholic provider of Catholic books may qualify for a free ad.

* If you do not receive an e-mail from us within 90 days of requesting a free ad, your ad may not appear on the site. This may occur for a variety of reasons. Do not submit another request for a free ad for another 9 months. If you are certain you qualify for a free ad and that your ad is appropriate for this site, you may try again on the correct day in 9 months. If you again do not hear back from us, do not submit any more free ad requests.

* Please do not request a free ad if you have a paid listing already appearing.

* One free ad per qualifying individual / organization. If you have already requested a free ad and request another free ad when not allowed (e.g. within less than a year from your previous request), your request may be subject to auto rejection. We may also delete any other ad(s) of yours, or ban you from future advertising on this site. Be sure to follow all guidelines when requesting free ads! Do not submit excess requests for free ads!

* No renewals allowed. 

* We cannot assist with free ad requests.

* Free ad requests not submitted according to our instructions (including requests wrongly submitted outside the applicable window and requests which do not contain correct / complete information) may be subject to auto rejection. Note that those who request free ads but do not provide correct / complete information or do not submit requests in accordance with our instructions (including requests wrongly submitted outside the applicable window) may be banned from future advertising on this site.

* We do not guarantee that any free ad request(s) will be honored.

* We do not guarantee that any ad whatsoever will appear on the site, how long any ad may appear, or that the appearance of any ad will be continuous.

* To request any ad(s), you must have a suitable relationship to the business / organization / group / institution / charity / etc. (i.e. you must be the owner or an authorized agent).

* Those who request free ads when not eligible or submit excess requests for free ads may be banned from future advertising on this site.

* It may take a long time to process requests for free ads.

* We not guarantee the availability of any free ads.

* Do not directly solicit contributions in free ads.

* We may limit the number of free ad requests allowed in any given day / period / category / etc. or in total. We may limit free ads as a percentage. We do not promise to consider any/all free ad request(s). Note that if we receive a large number of free ad requests in any given period (as determined by us), we may ignore them individually or in total.

* We may give preference to any items of our choosing (especially traditional Catholic items).

* We may reject any free ad request(s) for any reason whatsoever.

* We do not promise to consider any / all requests for free ads.

* If you are not entitled to a free ad, but lie (or misrepresent facts) in order to receive a free ad, you agree to pay us a fine of not less than five (5) times the price of the applicable ad(s) (and never less than $250), whether your ad(s) ever appear on the site or not. Also, note that those who lie or misrepresent facts to receive a free ad(s) may be banned from future advertising on this site.

* All applicable terms apply to free ads (free ads are subject to all applicable terms concerning paid ads - the amount saved may simply be regarded as a 'discount coupon').

* Some categories may be "closed" to free ads (even if they normally accept them).

* We may discontinue / limit / change / etc. the standard free ad offer at any time without notice.
