Some Uncomfortable Questions For Abortion Supporters

Getting Abortion Supporters To Face The Truth Through Questions

By A Pro-Life American

Summary: Pro-Life / Anti-Abortion Questions

Keywords: Abortion, Pro-Life, Pro-Lifers, Pro-Abortion, 'Pro-Choice', Abortion Supporters, Unborn Child, Baby, Babies, Child, Fetus, Questions, Questioning, Challenges, Challenging, Truth, Truths, Pregnancy, Mother, Motherhood, Maternity, Abortion Lies, Victims Of Abortion, Abortion Victims, Changing Hearts

It seems to me that...

1. Abortion supporters are not often personally challenged on their views from a respectful, intellectual perspective

And...

2. Abortion supporters may consider truths presented by pro-lifers as mere rhetoric

As I see it, in order to change hearts, it can sometimes help to respectfully question people (& listen) instead of lecturing them or throwing out slogans (as truthful as they may be). I have discovered that sometimes people can change their minds when they are sincerely/politely questioned and must provide logical responses to questions. It might not happen immediately, but a seed may be planted for the future. And, of course, some people may refuse to answer or, sadly, some may even get violent (so be careful!). However, for some individuals who maybe haven't given much careful thought to an issue, perhaps if they are shown patience & respect – and if they are convinced that you care about them – perhaps some headway might occasionally be made if the right approach is taken.

You probably have better ideas than I have about how to accomplish this in any given situation, but for whatever it is worth, I'll share some probing/uncomfortable (or even 'gotcha') questions that might prove useful when discussing the issue with certain abortion supporters. You will know the person(s) you speak to – and if there are safety concerns – better than I do so you'll have to use your own good judgment (for example, while some people might respond with a reasoned (but flawed) argument to a question like 'how can you support the murder of babies?', others might walk away in disgust or simply ignore you, while others might become physically combative). Your persuasion will obviously be precluded if the person is too offended to speak with you any further (or if there is physical violence), even if your question is valid and appropriate. You actually want them to respond intelligently for some very important reasons...

1. Their rational/logical thinking about the issue may show them their own arguments are flawed better than anything you can say to them, even if they don't admit it

2. Their thinking about what they are saying may plant a positive seed in their heads for the future, even if no change is seen at present

3. Their responses may help you understand their reasoning better and point you to the best direction for possible further discussion (careful listening is a valuable skill!)

4. You might be able to otherwise help someone (for example if a woman reveals she had an abortion, you might be able to encourage her to speak to a good priest)

Here are 29+ questions I think might be useful in certain situations (of course, use good judgment about which one or ones to use, with whom, where to use them, and the order to use them). If you think it's useful, preface your questioning with something like "I have some serious questions I'd like answers to in a non-argumentative fashion. Can you help me get a better understanding of the pro-abortion position?"

1. What is a botched abortion?

2. What do you call it when a baby comes out of an abortion alive? (Note: It is estimated that hundreds of abortion survivors are born alive each year in the USA)

3. How can some babies survive abortion if they weren't babies to begin with?

4. What do you call the actual babies that survive abortion?

5. Could you voice your support for abortion to the faces of (now) adult abortion survivors? Are you glad these people survived or (God forbid!) do you wish the abortions had been successful? Do you consider the attempted abortion of them as infants not to be attempted murder? If not, why not?

6. Should babies who survive abortion (and are therefore born alive) be entitled to receive medical treatment? If not, how does this differ from infanticide? How can medical personnel who took an oath to 'do no harm' fail to at least attempt to rescue a newborn survivor of abortion?

7. What specifically do you think is removed from a woman during/after an abortion? Have you ever seen any pictures of what is removed or a 'sample' of an aborted 'fetus'? If it's not a baby, why is it that some abortion advocates don't support showing the results of an abortion to abortion-minded women so that they can make a fully informed decision about a medical procedure they intend to have?

8. Are you aware that some women change their mind about having an abortion after seeing images of their unborn child? Why do you think this would occur if it was a mere 'blob of tissue' or 'clumps of cells'?

9. Were you aware that abortionists need to inventory parts to make sure all are removed from the mother's body after an abortion (e.g. fingers, toes, etc.) so that they do not cause the woman future harm? Do you think these little fingers, toes, etc. do not belong to a human baby?

10. What should be done with the parts removed from the mother during/after an abortion? Should the abortionist be able to sell such parts? Should the mother have a say in the disposition of those parts? Do you think it is acceptable to sell fetal heads, arms, etc.?

11. Have you ever been to (or had) a baby shower? How is that consistent with a pro-abortion position?

12. Do you think a mother should be able to end the life of her child after birth if that child is inconvenient for her? If so, how does that differ from murder? If not, how can this be reconciled with killing the very SAME child before birth?

13. Who is victim of abortion? If you are unwilling to admit any victims of abortion, do you also deny that without abortions many other persons would be alive right now? If not, what exactly do you think the abortion accomplished? Are you aware of basic reproductive biology? How do you fail to consider those not-alive persons victims?

14. Can you describe the procedures used for abortion, even in general? If not, would you be willing to read about them? If you can describe them, do they not concern you in any way? [Note: Try here for some (graphic) information on various abortion procedures.]

15. If it can be proved that an unborn child feels pain during an abortion, would that bother you? Have you seen images showing unborn babies actually experiencing pain upon being aborted? Is that acceptable for children to be painfully killed in the womb because they inconvenience their mothers?

16. Do you think the unborn child killed in abortion would consent to being killed (unbaptized!) because they are an inconvenience to their mother? If you were an inconvenience to your mother, do you think she should be able to legally end your life?

17. If the 'fetus' has separate DNA, brain, heart, organs, blood (possibly even an entirely different blood type), etc., than its mother how can it not be a separate and distinct individual with rights? Why is it you think this unique & defenseless person should have no rights at all?

18. If someone killed your pregnant relative, would you support the killer only being charged with the death of one person? If not, how is that consistent with the pro-abortion position?

19. As an abortion supporter, what do you say to the many women who regret their abortions and experience grave suffering because of them? What do you say to those who experience life-long medical conditions after an abortion who weren't told the risks of abortion because they might change their minds? [Note: Consider the user-submitted article 'The Wrong Side of Goodbye / Many Tears Ago' here.]

20. Do you have any objection to race-selective or sex-selective abortion? (meaning aborting a child because of its race or because it is not the desired sex) How can it be a certain race or sex to begin with if it's not a person?

21. If a woman was prevented from having an abortion for, say, nine months, what do you expect she would have at the end of that time with proper medical care?

22. Do you think pregnant women should drink alcohol? If not, how is that consistent with the pro-abortion position?

23. If you base your pro-abortion position solely on your concern for the pregnant woman, does that mean the child she carries doesn't matter to you at all? Why should her 9 months of inconvenience outweigh her child's entire life? Are you aware that many good people are happy to adopt children so her 'burden' does not have to be life-long?

24. If you are against child abuse (which you presumably are against), how can you be in favor of abortion?

25. Do you feel sadness upon hearing of a loved one's stillborn baby? Are you glad to know that the baby is given a proper burial instead of being thrown in the trash as medical waste? How is this consistent with the pro-abortion position?

26. Do you think persons should have no consequences for their actions? How do you think most women get pregnant? Is it not true that most pregnant women consented to engage in the ONLY one single act that can result in pregnancy? [Note: For pregnancy due to rape, see 'Abortion & Rape' page here.]

27. If you argue for abortion based on women's rights, what say you to the roughly half of aborted babies that are female?

28. If you believe in God, how is it you think God is not offended by the purposeful abortion of a child made in His image?

29. I noticed you & your loved ones survived birth. Do you think your pro-abortion position would be different if you or your most cherished loved ones had been aborted?

Of course asking such questions is not for everyone or for every situation, but if you find it is appropriate for you, may God bless & reward you in your endeavors.

BIG Book of Latin Activities For Catholics

"Suitable For Children Or Adults!" ~ "Perfect For Home Schoolers!"

+ + +

As many faithful Catholics already know, the majestic Latin language – the 'official language' of the Catholic Church – promotes unity, helps safeguard the purity of doctrine, connects us with our Catholic ancestors, allows us to pray in "one voice", and even ties back to the inscription on the Cross which was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. The Latin language is still used today in the precious treasure that is the Traditional Latin ('Tridentine') Mass, in 'everyday speech' (much of English is derived from Latin), in mottos, in specialized fields, and in educational endeavors. It has been shown that the study of Latin brings many benefits. "And, Latin is truly the language of heaven!"

If you enjoy Latin, you may be glad to know that this full-sized (8.5" x 11"), tradition-minded publication features an assortment of activity types related to Latin (including: word searches, crosswords, coloring activities, challenges, fill-ins, spelling bee, quizzes, unscrambles, true/false, multiple choice, matching, cross-offs, circling, word associations, translation exercises, and more...), and treats of various topics (including: common Latin words, Latin language facts, Latin grammar, nouns & verbs, abbreviations, phrases / sayings / mottos, prefixes, cardinal numbers, grammatical gender, inflection, word roots, diacritics / accenting, pronunciation, Latin prayers / hymns, Scripture verses, Catholic phrases, and more...).
