Transgenderism

A Commonsense Catholic Approach

By "Catholic Seeking Truth"

Summary: A commonsense Catholic approach to transgenderism.

Keywords: Transgender | Transgenderism | Man | Woman | Men | Women | Male | Female | Creator | Creation | Transgender Man | Transgender Woman | Transgender Men | Transgender Women | Gender Ideology | Gender | Sex | Identifying | Identify as Male | Identify as Female | Gender Nonconforming | Cross Dressing | Truth | True Gender | Reality | Science | Biology | Biological Facts | X Chromosomes | Y Chromosomes | Cells | Binary | Non-binary | Intersex | Intersexual | Bisexual | Homosexual | Fluid Transgender | Conception | Birth | Mental Perception | Mental Disorder | Gender Dysphoria | Sin | Bodily Harm | Satan | Transition | Transitioning | Surgery | Surgeries | Hormones | Reproduction | Ramifications | Militant Transgender Movement | Transgender Cult | Woke | Wokeness | Healing

Reminder: While we must hate sin, we must simultaneously love sinners. Do not inflict or wish harm on anyone.

First, to those suffering due to transgenderism: I am sorry you are struggling. We all have struggles. We can work to overcome them with God's grace and help from others. While I am not a doctor and cannot offer you medical or psychiatric advice, I nonetheless remain confident that the solution to all earthly problems lies in heartfelt prayer and worthy reception of the sacraments, which will result in God's grace. Your happiness lies in God, so go with confidence to your loving Father and seek the help and healing you need. Do not be fearful or discouraged. Call on your Blessed Mother and the Saints as well. Persevere in prayer. Refuse to sin and wholeheartedly repent of past sin. Follow authentic Church teachings and sincerely strive to follow His will in all things. Then trust that all will be made well and good for you by the Lord who died in harrowing agony to save you, because He loves you that much.

Second, some questions for those who promote "transgenderism":

1. If I stand in front of a fast approaching bus on a busy interstate, but somehow think I am in a safe garden, is it charitable to let me continue with my fantasy or delusion, or would it better serve me to get me out of the way of the bus?

2. Is a person actually an elephant because they think they are? What if they took elephant hormones and attached large prosthetic ears? At best they could be an elephant impersonator, a pseudo elephant, but never a real elephant, correct?

3. Is an adult playing with an imaginary friend interacting with an actual living person? The imaginary friend may seem real to the individual, but it is not authentically a real person, correct? (Thus the term "imaginary"...)

4. Ever wake up and feel like it's a Saturday when it's only Friday? If so, does Friday actually become Saturday because you feel like it's Saturday?

5. Who would be relaxed driving on a bridge designed by someone taking this approach to science: "forget science, I feel that gravity is false and that two plus two equals eleven"? How safe do you think their bridge would be? Does the bridge designer's rejection of demonstrable truth actually result in a safer bridge?

What do these five questions have in common? The answer is truth, reality. An incorrect mental perception will never have the power to change reality. Reality exists independently of the mind. Peoples' minds can be affected by assorted delusions or psychoses, but disorders of the mind do not have the ability to alter what is true. And besides those suffering false mental perceptions, everyone outside their heads can see what is obviously true and what is manifestly false. Nothing in reality changes simply because someone holds an erroneous belief.

Similarly, those afflicted with transgenderism have no power to actually change their gender, they can only "identify" with the other gender or pretend to change to the other gender. Some may seem more convincing than others in their gender impersonation, but still there is no actual authentic change of gender. Pretense aside, biology doggedly will remain biology. Even if someone mutilates their body to appear more like the other gender, every cell in their body will betray the ruse. Remember from Biology 101 that every cell has either a pair of X chromosomes (females) or a pair of X and Y chromosomes (males). It is not possible to alter every cell in the entire body - and each cell reveals a person's true gender. No matter what surgeries a person undergoes or hormones a person takes, every cell in their body will always attest to the person's true gender. In other words, the person will always remain their "original" gender, they will continue to be male or female, whether they like it or not. Thinking (or identifying as something else, or acting as something else) can never have the power to change reality.

And let's also put to rest the idea that gender is "assigned at birth". This is not true. Those pesky chromosomes (pesky to transgender lies) are present from conception. From the first moment of our existence we have always been male or female. This is a biological fact.

And there is no such thing as being in the "wrong body". God put you in the body He put you in. And God does not make mistakes. A transgender person's only "evidence" of God making a "mistake" is that they "feel" a certain way. Since when did feelings become infallible?

"I feel, therefore it is" does not inherently correspond with reality. "It is, therefore I should feel" does inherently correspond with reality. Yet people who speak this truth are often belittled by the "woke" mob.

God, who made us in His image and who created us male and female, has a fierce enemy. This adversary of God, Satan, attacks all of us in different ways. Who says he can't trick someone into thinking they are the other gender for a while? Given Satan's hatred of the human race, wouldn't he especially aim this deception towards those still in their family-forming, childbearing years, while they remain able to reproduce (but who won't procreate if they are misled by transgenderism to mutilate their reproductive organs)? And isn't this age group precisely where we see so many transgender claims? And doesn't modern acceptance of the farce by others aid in Satan's destructive plans?

Which reminds me, now the transgender movement wants "sex reassignment surgery" (as if such a thing were possible!) to be called "gender-confirmation surgery"! A surgery cannot actually "reassign" one's gender or sex: remember, those pesky chromosomes proving a person's true gender will always remain in every cell. And, isn't there an irony in the idea that a person thinks they need a "confirmation" surgery? If someone already believes (against all evidence) they are the other gender, why would they need surgery to "confirm" it? And again, even when someone tries to become what they are not, their body will continue to betray the lie with its contrary chromosomes residing in every cell. These facts cannot be escaped.

This brings to light some contradictions. If someone claims a man or woman is in a "wrong body", they are thereby admitting (the obvious fact that) the body itself is associated with gender. But don't they also claim that gender is above the body? Also, let's press them for an answer on how it can be proved that it is the body that is wrong: why is it not the mind that is wrong?

And what about those who argue that gender is not binary? Don't certain "fluid transgender" people choose to identify as a male one day and a female another day? How can they imagine themselves a man in a woman's body (and vice versa), not some strange other third option? Doesn't this contradict the (ridiculous) non-binary agenda?

It is an indisputable fact that society depends upon men being men and women being women, without any other gender option. How else could humankind continue?

And those who think correctly know that "identifying" as something does not make a person that thing, just as a person taking elephant hormones and attaching large prosthetic ears can't ever really be made into a true elephant. Likewise, a person "identifying" as or seeking to become their "preferred gender" can never succeed in becoming the other gender. Rather, their incorrect mental picture may result in harm to themselves & others. Playing along with the malady rather than attempting to cure it can lead to still more harm.

Countenancing and assisting mental disorders does not correspond to truth. If someone plays along with a person who thinks they are in a garden but are in reality threatened by an approaching bus, are they doing the person a service? If someone pretends the elephant impersonator is actually an elephant, do they become one? Does playing along concerning an adult's imaginary friend make the illusion real? Shouldn't the goal be to help the person overcome their issue that led them to create an imaginary friend? Does pretending it's Saturday on Friday make it Saturday? What happens to the real Friday? Will the boss mind you not coming in to work on Friday because you're pretending it's Saturday? Does rejecting science make for a safe bridge?

It is the duty of those without disorders to help those who have them, not abet their maladies. That is true charity. This is where true healing and peace can occur.

And there is the matter of the transgender movement offending God. It is God who made us male and female. To profess that a person is (or can be) a different gender than what He made that person to be (in every single cell!) is a great offense and insult to God. The Lord God is our Creator and He made us the gender that He made us...and God does not make mistakes. How can anyone believe an omniscient, perfect God made a mistake?! I ask in all sincerity and charity to those afflicted by transgenderism: Isn't it more realistic that you are the one making the mistake? Don't you make mistakes nearly every day?

I am not trying to attack anyone here, but rather appeal to fair minds using common sense. One thing that sets the Catholic Church apart from all other sects & religions is truth. So the Catholic approach is that of truth, in charity. We must be charitable, but we must likewise be truthful.

God has told us in Holy Scripture that we should not even dress as the other sex, much less try to "change" to the other sex:

Deuteronomy 22:5: "A woman shall not wear an article proper to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's dress; for anyone who does such things is an abomination to the LORD, your God."

Likewise, the Almighty God has told us that it is forbidden to engage in homosexual relations:

Leviticus 18:22: "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; such a thing is an abomination."

It is a fact that incorrect mental conceptions can lead to harm, potentially to both body & to soul. This is the case whether one falsely thinks they are in a safe garden when in reality they are in danger of being impacted by a bus, or whether they are a man thinking they are a woman (or vice versa). The high rate of suicide among "transgenders" proves the potential for danger. Even when people (sinfully!) mangle their bodies and abuse them with hormones in a futile attempt to change genders, evidence demonstrates that they are not happy as a result. And they do NOT become the other sex. So what is the alleged benefit of these "therapies"? Even the so-called "pioneer of gender reassignment surgery" now condemns the practice after seeing the results (e.g. their failure to bring an end to people's troubles).

Besides the tremendous damage to persons afflicted with "gender dysphoria" (which in all likelihood may be temporary) by means of permanent (sinful!) bodily mutilation, such "treatments" fail to address the root cause of the issue (e.g. a disturbance in the mind). And this might be accomplished at great cost to taxpayers and others (e.g. medical insurance companies), not to mention the ramifications from distorting truth (e.g. consider the consequences of false information appearing on birth certificates). It may also result in grave harm being inflicted on others (for example, to families if the father loses his job because he refused to use a transgender person's preferred pronoun, or to women who may be forced to physically share bathrooms, hospital rooms, and prison cells with men, or to children who may also suffer various ills).

Further, those promoting the transgender cause may have sinister motives. Need proof? What about the fact that the media essentially ignores people who "no longer identify as transgender", even though such persons are "rampant"? Or the fact that they give the "cold shoulder" to people who wish they could undo mutilating surgeries? Doesn't that prove it's not really about people's well-being, but instead is about pushing an agenda? And parents be on guard: the "transgender movement" arguably has dangerous cult-like qualities. Pray that your children will be safe from it!

Rather than encouraging people to embrace a mental disorder which may lead to serious sin & bodily harm, let's push for upright, positive Catholic assistance for those who consider themselves "transgender". Let's do all we can to help them feel comfortable in their own bodies that were given them by God. Let's show them charity and understanding, and guide them on the path of truth and genuine healing. Let's get them authentic help rather than assist them to be trapped in what is arguably Satan's fraud. For those who have already harmed themselves in the name of "transgenderism", let's do what we can to help undo the damage and facilitate them in reconciling with their loving Father. And let us all pray that this present day scourge of the militant "transgender movement" will soon pass.

"Those who wage war against the truth are powerless to win; rather, they wound themselves, like those who kick against spikes." (St. John Chrysostom)

BIG Book of Latin Activities For Catholics

"Suitable For Children Or Adults!" ~ "Perfect For Home Schoolers!"

+ + +

As many faithful Catholics already know, the majestic Latin language – the 'official language' of the Catholic Church – promotes unity, helps safeguard the purity of doctrine, connects us with our Catholic ancestors, allows us to pray in "one voice", and even ties back to the inscription on the Cross which was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. The Latin language is still used today in the precious treasure that is the Traditional Latin ('Tridentine') Mass, in 'everyday speech' (much of English is derived from Latin), in mottos, in specialized fields, and in educational endeavors. It has been shown that the study of Latin brings many benefits. "And, Latin is truly the language of heaven!"

If you enjoy Latin, you may be glad to know that this full-sized (8.5" x 11"), tradition-minded publication features an assortment of activity types related to Latin (including: word searches, crosswords, coloring activities, challenges, fill-ins, spelling bee, quizzes, unscrambles, true/false, multiple choice, matching, cross-offs, circling, word associations, translation exercises, and more...), and treats of various topics (including: common Latin words, Latin language facts, Latin grammar, nouns & verbs, abbreviations, phrases / sayings / mottos, prefixes, cardinal numbers, grammatical gender, inflection, word roots, diacritics / accenting, pronunciation, Latin prayers / hymns, Scripture verses, Catholic phrases, and more...).
