Love in the N.T. / Scripture Verses:
Taken
from... |
Scripture |
JN 13:12-20 |
So when he had washed
their feet (and) put his garments back on and reclined at table
again, he said to them, "Do you realize what I have done for
you? You call me 'teacher' and 'master,' and rightly so, for
indeed I am. If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have
washed your feet, you ought to wash one another's feet. I have
given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you
should also do. Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than
his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him. If
you understand this, blessed are you if you do it. I am not
speaking of all of you. I know those whom I have chosen. But
so that the scripture might be fulfilled, 'The one who ate my food
has raised his heel against me.' From now on I am telling you
before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe that I
AM. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send
receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent
me." |
JN 14:6-7 |
Jesus said to him,
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to
the Father except through me. If you know me, then you will
also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen
him." |
JN 14:15-31 |
"If you love me,
you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and
he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the
Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither
sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with
you, and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come
to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you
will see me, because I live and you will live. On that day you
will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in
you. Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one
who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him and reveal myself to him." Judas, not the
Iscariot, said to him, "Master, (then) what happened that you
will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?" Jesus
answered and said to him, "Whoever loves me will keep my
word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and
make our dwelling with him. Whoever does not love me does not
keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of
the Father who sent me. I have told you this while I am with
you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in my
name - he will teach you everything and remind you of all that (I)
told you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not
as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts
be troubled or afraid. You heard me tell you, 'I am going away and
I will come back to you.' If you loved me, you would rejoice that
I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And
now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it
happens you may believe. I will no longer speak much with you, for
the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me, but the
world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the
Father has commanded me. Get up, let us go." |
JN 15:1-17 |
"I am the true
vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every
branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he
prunes so that it bears more fruit. You are already pruned
because of the word that I spoke to you. Remain in me, as I remain
in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it
remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me.
I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I
in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do
nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like
a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a
fire and they will be burned. If you remain in me and my words
remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for
you. By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and
become my disciples. As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will
remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's
commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so
that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. This is my
commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater
love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You
are my friends if you do what I command you. I no
longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his
master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told
you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who
chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear
fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my
name he may give you. This I command you: love one another." |
JN 15:18-27 |
"If the world hates
you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world,
the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to
the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates
you. Remember the word I spoke to you, 'No slave is greater
than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also
persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
And they will do all these things to you on account of my name,
because they do not know the one who sent me. If I had not come
and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but as it is they have
no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me also hates my Father. If
I had not done works among them that no one else ever did, they
would not have sin; but as it is, they have seen and hated both me
and my Father. But in order that the word written in their law
might be fulfilled, 'They hated me without cause.' When the
Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of
truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And
you also testify, because you have been with me from the
beginning." |
JN 16:1-11 |
"I have told you
this so that you may not fall away. They will expel you from
the synagogues; in fact, the hour is coming when everyone who
kills you will think he is offering worship to God. They will do
this because they have not known either the Father or me. I
have told you this so that when their hour comes you may remember
that I told you. I did not tell you this from the beginning,
because I was with you. But now I am going to the one who sent me,
and not one of you asks me, 'Where are you going?' But because I
told you this, grief has filled your hearts. But I tell you the
truth, it is better for you that I go. For if I do not go, the
Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to
you. And when he comes he will convict the world in
regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation: sin, because
they do not believe in me; righteousness, because I am going to
the Father and you will no longer see me; condemnation, because
the ruler of this world has been condemned." |
JN 16:31-33 |
Jesus answered them, "Do you believe now? Behold,
the hour is coming and has arrived when each of you will be
scattered to his own home and you will leave me alone. But I
am not alone, because the Father is with me. I have told you this
so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have
trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the
world." |
JN 17:7-26 |
"Now they know that
everything you gave me is from you, because the words you gave to
me I have given to them, and they accepted them and truly
understood that I came from you, and they have believed that you
sent me. I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for
the ones you have given me, because they are yours, and
everything of mine is yours and everything of yours is mine, and I
have been glorified in them. And now I will no longer be in the
world, but they are in the world, while I am coming to you. Holy
Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that
they may be one just as we are. When I was with them I protected
them in your name that you gave me, and I guarded them, and
none of them was lost except the son of destruction, in order
that the scripture might be fulfilled. But now I am coming to you.
I speak this in the world so that they may share my joy
completely. I gave them your word, and the world hated them,
because they do not belong to the world any more than I belong to
the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world but
that you keep them from the evil one. They do not belong to the
world any more than I belong to the world. Consecrate them in the
truth. Your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I
sent them into the world. And I consecrate myself for them, so
that they also may be consecrated in truth. I pray not only
for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their
word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I
in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe
that you sent me. And I have given them the glory you gave me, so
that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that
they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know
that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, they are your gift to me. I wish that where I am they also
may be with me, that they may see my glory that you gave me,
because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Righteous
Father, the world also does not know you, but I know you, and
they know that you sent me. I made known to them your name and I
will make it known, that the love with which you loved me may be
in them and I in them." |
JN 18:37-38 |
So Pilate said to him,
"Then you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say I
am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world,
to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth
listens to my voice." Pilate said to him, "What is
truth?" When he had said this, he again went out to the Jews
and said to them, "I find no guilt in him." |
JN 19:7-16 |
Now when Pilate
heard this statement, he became even more afraid, and went back
into the praetorium and said to Jesus, "Where are you
from?" Jesus did not answer him. So Pilate said to him,
"Do you not speak to me? Do you not know that I have power to
release you and I have power to crucify you?" Jesus answered
(him), "You would have no power over me if it had not been
given to you from above. For this reason the one who handed me
over to you has the greater sin." Consequently, Pilate
tried to release him; but the Jews cried out, "If you release
him, you are not a Friend of Caesar. Everyone who makes himself a
king opposes Caesar." When Pilate heard these words he
brought Jesus out and seated him on the judge's bench in the place
called Stone Pavement, in Hebrew, Gabbatha. It was preparation day
for Passover, and it was about noon. And he said to the Jews,
"Behold, your king!" They cried out, "Take him
away, take him away! Crucify him!" Pilate said to them,
"Shall I crucify your king?" The chief priests answered,
"We have no king but Caesar." Then he handed him over to
them to be crucified. |
JN 20:11-18 |
But Mary stayed outside
the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and
saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at
the feet where the body of Jesus had been. And they said to her,
"Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them,
"They have taken my Lord, and I don't know where they laid
him." When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus
there, but did not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to her,
"Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?"
She thought it was the gardener and said to him, "Sir, if you
carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take
him." Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and
said to him in Hebrew, "Rabbouni," which means Teacher.
Jesus said to her, "Stop holding on to me, for I have not
yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell
them, 'I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your
God.'" Mary of Magdala went and announced to the disciples,
"I have seen the Lord," and what he told her. |
JN 20:19-23 |
On the evening of that
first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the
disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in
their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you." When
he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The
disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. (Jesus) said to them
again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I
send you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them and
said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you
forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are
retained." |
JN 21:20-23 |
Peter turned and saw the
disciple following whom Jesus loved, the one who had also reclined
upon his chest during the supper and had said, "Master, who
is the one who will betray you?" When Peter saw him, he said
to Jesus, "Lord, what about him?" Jesus said to him,
"What if I want him to remain until I come? What concern
is it of yours? You follow me." So the word spread among
the brothers that that disciple would not die. But Jesus had not
told him that he would not die, just "What if I want him to
remain until I come? (What concern is it of yours?)" |
ACTS 2:37-47 |
Now when they heard
this, they were cut to the heart, and they asked Peter and the
other apostles, "What are we to do, my brothers?" Peter
(said) to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of
you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins;
and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the
promise is made to you and to your children and to all those far
off, whomever the Lord our God will call." He
testified with many other arguments, and was exhorting them,
"Save yourselves from this corrupt generation."
Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three
thousand persons were added that day. They devoted themselves to
the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the
breaking of the bread and to the prayers. Awe came upon everyone,
and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. All
who believed were together and had all things in common; they
would sell their property and possessions and divide them among
all according to each one's need. Every day they devoted
themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking
bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and
sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the
people. And every day the Lord added to their number those who
were being saved. |
ACTS 3:11-26 |
As he clung to Peter and
John, all the people hurried in amazement toward them in the
portico called "Solomon's Portico." When Peter saw this,
he addressed the people, "You Israelites, why are you amazed
at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made
him walk by our own power or piety? The God of Abraham, (the God)
of Isaac, and (the God) of Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has
glorified his servant Jesus whom you handed over and denied in
Pilate's presence, when he had decided to release him. You denied
the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released
to you. The author of life you put to death, but God raised him
from the dead; of this we are witnesses. And by faith in his name,
this man, whom you see and know, his name has made strong, and the
faith that comes through it has given him this perfect health, in
the presence of all of you. Now I know, brothers, that you acted
out of ignorance, just as your leaders did; but God has thus
brought to fulfillment what he had announced beforehand through
the mouth of all the prophets, that his Messiah would suffer. Repent,
therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away,
and that the Lord may grant you times of refreshment and send you
the Messiah already appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must
receive until the times of universal restoration of which God
spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from of old. For
Moses said: 'A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up
for you from among your own kinsmen; to him you shall listen in
all that he may say to you. Everyone who does not listen to
that prophet will be cut off from the people.' Moreover, all
the prophets who spoke, from Samuel and those afterwards, also
announced these days. You are the children of the prophets and of
the covenant that God made with your ancestors when he said to
Abraham, 'In your offspring all the families of the earth shall be
blessed.' For you first, God raised up his servant and sent him
to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways." |
ACTS 4:8-12 |
Then Peter, filled with
the Holy Spirit, answered them, "Leaders of the people and
elders: If we are being examined today about a good deed done to a
cripple, namely, by what means he was saved, then all of you and
all the people of Israel should know that it was in the name of
Jesus Christ the Nazorean whom you crucified, whom God raised from
the dead; in his name this man stands before you healed. He is
'the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the
cornerstone.' There is no salvation through anyone else,
nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race
by which we are to be saved." |
ACTS 4:31-37, 5:1-11 |
The community of
believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any
of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common.
With great power the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of
the Lord Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all. There
was no needy person among them, for those who owned property or
houses would sell them, bring the proceeds of the sale, and put
them at the feet of the apostles, and they were distributed to
each according to need. Thus Joseph, also named by the
apostles Barnabas (which is translated "son of
encouragement"), a Levite, a Cypriot by birth, sold a piece
of property that he owned, then brought the money and put it at
the feet of the apostles. A man named Ananias, however, with
his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property. He retained for
himself, with his wife's knowledge, some of the purchase price,
took the remainder, and put it at the feet of the apostles. But
Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart so that
you lied to the Holy Spirit and retained part of the price of the
land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain yours? And when
it was sold, was it not still under your control? Why did you
contrive this deed? You have lied not to human beings, but to
God." When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and
breathed his last, and great fear came upon all who heard of it.
The young men came and wrapped him up, then carried him out and
buried him. After an interval of about three hours, his wife came
in, unaware of what had happened. Peter said to her, "Tell
me, did you sell the land for this amount?" She answered,
"Yes, for that amount." Then Peter said to her,
"Why did you agree to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen,
the footsteps of those who have buried your husband are at the
door, and they will carry you out." At once, she fell down at
his feet and breathed her last. When the young men entered
they found her dead, so they carried her out and buried her beside
her husband. And great fear came upon the whole church and upon
all who heard of these things. |
ACTS 5:29-32 |
But Peter and the
apostles said in reply, "We must obey God rather than men.
The God of our ancestors raised Jesus, though you had him killed
by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand as
leader and savior to grant Israel repentance and forgiveness of
sins. We are witnesses of these things, as is the Holy Spirit that God has given to those who obey him." |
ACTS 7:51-60 |
"You
stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always
oppose the Holy Spirit; you are just like your ancestors. Which
of the prophets did your ancestors not persecute? They put to
death those who foretold the coming of the righteous one, whose
betrayers and murderers you have now become. You received the law
as transmitted by angels, but you did not observe it."
When they heard this, they were infuriated, and they ground their
teeth at him. But he, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked up
intently to heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at
the right hand of God, and he said, "Behold, I see the
heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of
God." But they cried out in a loud voice, covered their ears,
and rushed upon him together. They threw him out of the city, and
began to stone him. The witnesses laid down their cloaks at the
feet of a young man named Saul. As they were stoning Stephen, he
called out, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Then he
fell to his knees and cried out in a loud voice, "Lord, do
not hold this sin against them"; and when he said this, he
fell asleep. |
ACTS 8:18-25 |
When Simon saw that the
Spirit was conferred by the laying on of the apostles' hands, he
offered them money and said, "Give me this power too, so that
anyone upon whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit."
But Peter said to him, "May your money perish with you,
because you thought that you could buy the gift of God with money.
You have no share or lot in this matter, for your heart is not
upright before God. Repent of this wickedness of yours and pray to
the Lord that, if possible, your intention may be forgiven. For I
see that you are filled with bitter gall and are in the bonds of
iniquity." Simon said in reply, "Pray for me to the
Lord, that nothing of what you have said may come upon me."
So when they had testified and proclaimed the word of the Lord,
they returned to Jerusalem and preached the good news to many
Samaritan villages. |
ACTS 12:21-24 |
On an appointed day,
Herod, attired in royal robes, (and) seated on the rostrum,
addressed them publicly. The assembled crowd cried out, "This
is the voice of a god, not of a man." At once the angel of
the Lord struck him down because he did not ascribe the honor to
God, and he was eaten by worms and breathed his last. But the
word of God continued to spread and grow. |
ACTS 13:4-12 |
So they, sent forth by
the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and from there sailed to
Cyprus. When they arrived in Salamis, they proclaimed the word of
God in the Jewish synagogues. They had John also as their
assistant. When they had traveled through the whole island as far
as Paphos, they met a magician named Bar-Jesus who was a Jewish
false prophet. He was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, a man of
intelligence, who had summoned Barnabas and Saul and wanted to
hear the word of God. But Elymas the magician (for that is what
his name means) opposed them in an attempt to turn the proconsul
away from the faith. But Saul, also known as Paul, filled with
the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, "You son of
the devil, you enemy of all that is right, full of every sort of
deceit and fraud. Will you not stop twisting the straight paths of
(the) Lord? Even now the hand of the Lord is upon you. You will be
blind, and unable to see the sun for a time." Immediately a
dark mist fell upon him, and he went about seeking people to lead
him by the hand. When the proconsul saw what had happened, he
came to believe, for he was astonished by the teaching about the
Lord. |
ACTS 13:44-52 |
On the following sabbath
almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. When
the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and with
violent abuse contradicted what Paul said. Both Paul and
Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, "It was necessary that
the word of God be spoken to you first, but since you reject it
and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to
the Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us, 'I have made
you a light to the Gentiles, that you may be an instrument of
salvation to the ends of the earth.'" The Gentiles were
delighted when they heard this and glorified the word of the Lord.
All who were destined for eternal life came to believe,
and the word of the Lord continued to spread through the whole
region. The Jews, however, incited the women of prominence who
were worshipers and the leading men of the city, stirred up a
persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from
their territory. So they shook the dust from their feet in
protest against them and went to Iconium. The disciples were
filled with joy and the Holy Spirit. |
ACTS 14:22 |
They strengthened the
spirits of the disciples and exhorted them to persevere in the
faith, saying, "It is necessary for us to undergo many
hardships to enter the kingdom of God." |
ACTS 17:29-31 |
"Since therefore we are the offspring of God, we
ought not to think that the divinity is like an image fashioned
from gold, silver, or stone by human art and imagination. God
has overlooked the times of ignorance, but now he demands that all
people everywhere repent because he has established a day on which
he will 'judge the world with justice' through a man he has
appointed, and he has provided confirmation for all by raising him
from the dead." |
ACTS 18:5-6 |
When Silas and Timothy
came down from Macedonia, Paul began to occupy himself totally
with preaching the word, testifying to the Jews that the Messiah
was Jesus. When they opposed him and reviled him, he shook out
his garments and said to them, "Your blood be on your heads!
I am clear of responsibility. From now on I will go to the
Gentiles." |
ACTS 19:8-9 |
He entered the
synagogue, and for three months debated boldly with persuasive
arguments about the kingdom of God. But when some in their
obstinacy and disbelief disparaged the Way before the assembly, he
withdrew and took his disciples with him and began to hold
daily discussions in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. |
ACTS 20:25-36 |
"But now I know
that none of you to whom I preached the kingdom during my travels
will ever see my face again. And so I solemnly declare to you this
day that I am not responsible for the blood of any of you, for I
did not shrink from proclaiming to you the entire plan of God. Keep
watch over yourselves and over the whole flock of which the Holy Spirit
has appointed you overseers, in which you tend the church
of God that he acquired with his own blood. I know that after my
departure savage wolves will come among you, and they will not
spare the flock. And from your own group, men will come forward
perverting the truth to draw the disciples away after them. So be
vigilant and remember that for three years, night and day, I
unceasingly admonished each of you with tears. And now I commend
you to God and to that gracious word of his that can build you up
and give you the inheritance among all who are consecrated. I have
never wanted anyone's silver or gold or clothing. You know well
that these very hands have served my needs and my companions. In
every way I have shown you that by hard work of that sort we must
help the weak, and keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus who
himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" When
he had finished speaking he knelt down and prayed with them all. |
ACTS 23:1-5 |
Paul looked intently at
the Sanhedrin and said, "My brothers, I have conducted myself
with a perfectly clear conscience before God to this day."
The high priest Ananias ordered his attendants to strike his
mouth. Then Paul said to him, "God will strike you, you
whitewashed wall. Do you indeed sit in judgment upon me according
to the law and yet in violation of the law order me to be
struck?" The attendants said, "Would you revile
God's high priest?" Paul answered, "Brothers, I did not
realize he was the high priest. For it is written, 'You shall not
curse a ruler of your people.'" |
ACTS 24:24-25 |
Several days later Felix
came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish. He had Paul
summoned and listened to him speak about faith in Christ Jesus.
But as he spoke about righteousness and self-restraint and the
coming judgment, Felix became frightened and said, "You
may go for now; when I find an opportunity I shall summon you
again." |
ACTS 26:17-23 |
"'I shall deliver you from
this people and from the Gentiles to whom I send you, to open
their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the
power of Satan to God, so that they may obtain forgiveness of sins
and an inheritance among those who have been consecrated by faith
in me.' And so, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to
the heavenly vision. On the contrary, first to those in Damascus
and in Jerusalem and throughout the whole country of Judea, and
then to the Gentiles, I preached the need to repent and turn to
God, and to do works giving evidence of repentance. That is
why the Jews seized me (when I was) in the temple and tried to
kill me. But I have enjoyed God's help to this very day, and so I
stand here testifying to small and great alike, saying nothing
different from what the prophets and Moses foretold, that the
Messiah must suffer and that, as the first to rise from the dead,
he would proclaim light both to our people and to the
Gentiles." |
ACTS 28:24-27 |
Some were convinced by what he had said, while others
did not believe. Without reaching any agreement among
themselves they began to leave; then Paul made one final
statement. "Well did the Holy Spirit speak to your ancestors
through the prophet Isaiah, saying: 'Go to this people and say:
You shall indeed hear but not understand. You shall indeed look
but never see. Gross is the heart of this people; they will not
hear with their ears; they have closed their eyes, so they may not
see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with
their heart and be converted, and I heal them.'" |
ROM 1:18-32 |
The wrath of God is
indeed being revealed from heaven against every impiety and
wickedness of those who suppress the truth by their wickedness.
For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God
made it evident to them. Ever since the creation of the world, his
invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able
to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a
result, they have no excuse; for although they knew God they did
not accord him glory as God or give him thanks. Instead, they
became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were
darkened. While claiming to be wise, they became fools and
exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an
image of mortal man or of birds or of four-legged animals or of
snakes. Therefore, God handed them over to impurity through the
lusts of their hearts for the mutual degradation of their bodies.
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and
worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed
forever. Amen. Therefore, God handed them over to degrading
passions. Their females exchanged natural relations for unnatural,
and the males likewise gave up natural relations with females and
burned with lust for one another. Males did shameful things with
males and thus received in their own persons the due penalty for
their perversity. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge
God, God handed them over to their undiscerning mind to do what is
improper. They are filled with every form of wickedness, evil,
greed, and malice; full of envy, murder, rivalry, treachery, and
spite. They are gossips and scandalmongers and they hate God. They
are insolent, haughty, boastful, ingenious in their wickedness,
and rebellious toward their parents. They are senseless,
faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know the just decree
of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not
only do them but give approval to those who practice them. |
ROM 2:1-29 |
Therefore, you are
without excuse, every one of you who passes judgment. For by the
standard by which you judge another you condemn yourself, since
you, the judge, do the very same things. We know that the
judgment of God on those who do such things is true. Do you
suppose, then, you who judge those who engage in such things and
yet do them yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God?
Or do you hold his priceless kindness, forbearance, and patience
in low esteem, unaware that the kindness of God would lead you to
repentance? By your stubbornness and impenitent heart, you are
storing up wrath for yourself for the day of wrath and revelation
of the just judgment of God, who will repay everyone according to
his works: eternal life to those who seek glory, honor, and
immortality through perseverance in good works, but wrath and
fury to those who selfishly disobey the truth and obey wickedness.
Yes, affliction and distress will come upon every human being who
does evil, Jew first and then Greek. But there will be glory,
honor, and peace for everyone who does good, Jew first and then
Greek. There is no partiality with God. All who sin outside the
law will also perish without reference to it, and all who sin
under the law will be judged in accordance with it. For it is not
those who hear the law who are just in the sight of God; rather,
those who observe the law will be justified. For when the
Gentiles who do not have the law by nature observe the
prescriptions of the law, they are a law for themselves even
though they do not have the law. They show that the demands of the
law are written in their hearts, while their conscience also bears
witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even defend them
on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge
people's hidden works through Christ Jesus. Now if you call
yourself a Jew and rely on the law and boast of God and know his
will and are able to discern what is important since you are
instructed from the law, and if you are confident that you are a
guide for the blind and a light for those in darkness, that you
are a trainer of the foolish and teacher of the simple, because in
the law you have the formulation of knowledge and truth - then you
who teach another, are you failing to teach yourself? You who
preach against stealing, do you steal? You who forbid adultery, do
you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob temples? You
who boast of the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?
For, as it is written, "Because of you the name of God is
reviled among the Gentiles." Circumcision, to be sure, has
value if you observe the law; but if you break the law, your
circumcision has become uncircumcision. Again, if an
uncircumcised man keeps the precepts of the law, will he not be
considered circumcised? Indeed, those who are physically
uncircumcised but carry out the law will pass judgment on you,
with your written law and circumcision, who break the law. One is
not a Jew outwardly. True circumcision is not outward, in the
flesh. Rather, one is a Jew inwardly, and circumcision is of
the heart, in the spirit, not the letter; his praise is not from
human beings but from God. |
ROM 3:1-26 |
What advantage is there
then in being a Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? Much,
in every respect. (For) in the first place, they were entrusted
with the utterances of God. What if some were unfaithful? Will
their infidelity nullify the fidelity of God? Of course not! God
must be true, though every human being is a liar, as it is
written: "That you may be justified in your words, and
conquer when you are judged." But if our wickedness provides
proof of God's righteousness, what can we say? Is God unjust,
humanly speaking, to inflict his wrath? Of course not! For how
else is God to judge the world? But if God's truth redounds to
his glory through my falsehood, why am I still being condemned as
a sinner? And why not say - as we are accused and as some claim we
say - that we should do evil that good may come of it? Their
penalty is what they deserve. Well, then, are we better off?
Not entirely, for we have already brought the charge against
Jews and Greeks alike that they are all under the domination of
sin, as it is written: "There is no one just, not one, there
is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God. All have
gone astray; all alike are worthless; there is not one who does
good, (there is not) even one. Their throats are open graves; they
deceive with their tongues; the venom of asps is on their lips;
their mouths are full of bitter cursing. Their feet are quick to
shed blood; ruin and misery are in their ways, and the way of
peace they know not. There is no fear of God before their
eyes." Now we know that what the law says is addressed to
those under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the
whole world stand accountable to God, since no human being will be
justified in his sight by observing the law; for through the law
comes consciousness of sin. But now the righteousness of God has
been manifested apart from the law, though testified to by the law
and the prophets, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus
Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction; all
have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God. They are
justified freely by his grace through the redemption in Christ
Jesus, whom God set forth as an expiation, through faith, by his
blood, to prove his righteousness because of the forgiveness of
sins previously committed, through the forbearance of God - to
prove his righteousness in the present time, that he might be
righteous and justify the one who has faith in Jesus. |
ROM 5:9-11 |
How much more then,
since we are now justified by his blood, will we be saved through
him from the wrath. Indeed, if, while we were enemies, we were
reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more,
once reconciled, will we be saved by his life. Not only that, but
we also boast of God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom
we have now received reconciliation. |
ROM 5:12-21 |
Therefore, just as
through one person sin entered the world, and through sin, death,
and thus death came to all, inasmuch as all sinned - for up to
the time of the law, sin was in the world, though sin is not
accounted when there is no law. But death reigned from Adam to
Moses, even over those who did not sin after the pattern of the
trespass of Adam, who is the type of the one who was to come. But
the gift is not like the transgression. For if by that one
person's transgression the many died, how much more did the grace
of God and the gracious gift of the one person Jesus Christ
overflow for the many. And the gift is not like the result of the
one person's sinning. For after one sin there was the judgment
that brought condemnation; but the gift, after many
transgressions, brought acquittal. For if, by the transgression of
one person, death came to reign through that one, how much more
will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of
justification come to reign in life through the one person Jesus
Christ. In conclusion, just as through one transgression
condemnation came upon all, so through one righteous act acquittal
and life came to all. For just as through the disobedience of one
person the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of one
the many will be made righteous. The law entered in so that
transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace
overflowed all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace
also might reign through justification for eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord. |
ROM 6:1-23 |
What then shall we say?
Shall we persist in sin that grace may abound? Of course not! How
can we who died to sin yet live in it? Or are you unaware that we
who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
We were indeed buried with him through baptism into death, so
that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the
Father, we too might live in newness of life. For if we have grown
into union with him through a death like his, we shall also be
united with him in the resurrection. We know that our old self was
crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be done away
with, that we might no longer be in slavery to sin. For a dead
person has been absolved from sin. If, then, we have died with
Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. We know that
Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more; death no longer has
power over him. As to his death, he died to sin once and for all;
as to his life, he lives for God. Consequently, you too must think
of yourselves as (being) dead to sin and living for God in Christ
Jesus. Therefore, sin must not reign over your mortal bodies so
that you obey their desires. And do not present the parts of your
bodies to sin as weapons for wickedness, but present yourselves to
God as raised from the dead to life and the parts of your bodies
to God as weapons for righteousness. For sin is not to have any
power over you, since you are not under the law but under grace.
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under
grace? Of course not! Do you not know that if you present
yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the
one you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of
obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God
that, although you were once slaves of sin, you have become
obedient from the heart to the pattern of teaching to which you
were entrusted. Freed from sin, you have become slaves of
righteousness. I am speaking in human terms because of the
weakness of your nature. For just as you presented the parts of
your bodies as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness for lawlessness, so now present them as slaves to righteousness for
sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free
from righteousness. But what profit did you get then from the
things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things
is death. But now that you have been freed from sin and have
become slaves of God, the benefit that you have leads to
sanctification, and its end is eternal life. For the wages of sin
is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our
Lord. |
ROM 7:1-25 |
Are you unaware,
brothers (for I am speaking to people who know the law), that the
law has jurisdiction over one as long as one lives? Thus a married
woman is bound by law to her living husband; but if her husband
dies, she is released from the law in respect to her husband.
Consequently, while her husband is alive she will be called an
adulteress if she consorts with another man. But if her husband
dies she is free from that law, and she is not an adulteress if
she consorts with another man. In the same way, my brothers, you
also were put to death to the law through the body of Christ, so
that you might belong to another, to the one who was raised from
the dead in order that we might bear fruit for God. For when we
were in the flesh, our sinful passions, awakened by the law,
worked in our members to bear fruit for death. But now we are
released from the law, dead to what held us captive, so that we
may serve in the newness of the spirit and not under the obsolete
letter. What then can we say? That the law is sin? Of course not!
Yet I did not know sin except through the law, and I did not know
what it is to covet except that the law said, "You shall not
covet." But sin, finding an opportunity in the commandment,
produced in me every kind of covetousness. Apart from the law sin
is dead. I once lived outside the law, but when the commandment
came, sin became alive; then I died, and the commandment that was
for life turned out to be death for me. For sin, seizing an
opportunity in the commandment, deceived me and through it put me
to death. So then the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and
righteous and good. Did the good, then, become death for me? Of
course not! Sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin, worked
death in me through the good, so that sin might become sinful
beyond measure through the commandment. We know that the law is
spiritual; but I am carnal, sold into slavery to sin. What I do, I
do not understand. For I do not do what I want, but I do what I
hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I concur that the law is
good. So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in
me. For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my
flesh. The willing is ready at hand, but doing the good is not.
For I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want.
Now if (I) do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but
sin that dwells in me. So, then, I discover the principle that
when I want to do right, evil is at hand. For I take delight in
the law of God, in my inner self, but I see in my members another
principle at war with the law of my mind, taking me captive to the
law of sin that dwells in my members. Miserable one that I am! Who
will deliver me from this mortal body? Thanks be to God through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself, with my mind, serve
the law of God but, with my flesh, the law of sin. |
ROM 8:5-13 |
For those who live
according to the flesh are concerned with the things of the flesh,
but those who live according to the spirit with the things of the
spirit. The concern of the flesh is death, but the concern of the
spirit is life and peace. For the concern of the flesh is
hostility toward God; it does not submit to the law of God, nor
can it; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you
are not in the flesh; on the contrary, you are in the spirit, if
only the Spirit of God dwells in you. Whoever does not have the
Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you,
although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is alive
because of righteousness. If the Spirit of the one who raised
Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from
the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his
Spirit that dwells in you. Consequently, brothers, we are not
debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you
live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the spirit
you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. |
ROM 8:14-17 |
For those who are led by
the Spirit of God are children of God. For you did not receive a
spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a
spirit of adoption, through which we cry, "Abba,
Father!" The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that
we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God
and joint heirs with Christ, if only we suffer with him so that we
may also be glorified with him. |
ROM 8:18-30 |
I consider that the
sufferings of this present time are as nothing compared with the
glory to be revealed for us. For creation awaits with eager
expectation the revelation of the children of God; for creation
was made subject to futility, not of its own accord but because of
the one who subjected it, in hope that creation itself would be
set free from slavery to corruption and share in the glorious
freedom of the children of God. We know that all creation is
groaning in labor pains even until now; and not only that, but we
ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, we also groan
within ourselves as we wait for adoption, the redemption of our
bodies. For in hope we were saved. Now hope that sees for itself
is not hope. For who hopes for what one sees? But if we hope for
what we do not see, we wait with endurance. In the same way, the
Spirit too comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know
how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes with
inexpressible groanings. And the one who searches hearts knows
what is the intention of the Spirit, because it intercedes for the
holy ones according to God's will. We know that all things work
for good for those who love God, who are called according to his
purpose. For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed
to the image of his Son, so that he might be the firstborn among
many brothers. And those he predestined he also called; and those
he called he also justified; and those he justified he also
glorified. |
ROM 9:1-29 |
I speak the truth in
Christ, I do not lie; my conscience joins with the Holy Spirit in
bearing me witness that I have great sorrow and constant anguish
in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed and
separated from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kin
according to the flesh. They are Israelites; theirs the adoption,
the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and
the promises; theirs the patriarchs, and from them, according to
the flesh, is the Messiah. God who is over all be blessed forever.
Amen. But it is not that the word of God has failed. For not
all who are of Israel are Israel, nor are they all children of
Abraham because they are his descendants; but "It is
through Isaac that descendants shall bear your name." This
means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the
children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as
descendants. For this is the wording of the promise, "About
this time I shall return and Sarah will have a son." And not
only that, but also when Rebecca had conceived children by one
husband, our father Isaac - before they had yet been born or
had done anything, good or bad, in order that God's elective plan
might continue, not by works but by his call - she was told,
"The older shall serve the younger." As it is written:
"I loved Jacob but hated Esau." What then are we to say?
Is there injustice on the part of God? Of course not! For he says
to Moses: "I will show mercy to whom I will, I will take pity
on whom I will." So it depends not upon a person's will or
exertion, but upon God, who shows mercy. For the scripture
says to Pharaoh, "This is why I have raised you up, to show
my power through you that my name may be proclaimed throughout the
earth." Consequently, he has mercy upon whom he wills, and
he hardens whom he wills. You will say to me then, "Why
(then) does he still find fault? For who can oppose his
will?" But who indeed are you, a human being, to talk back to
God? Will what is made say to its maker, "Why have you
created me so?" Or does not the potter have a right over the
clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for a noble purpose
and another for an ignoble one? What if God, wishing to show his
wrath and make known his power, has endured with much patience the
vessels of wrath made for destruction? This was to make known the
riches of his glory to the vessels of mercy, which he has
prepared previously for glory, namely, us whom he has called, not
only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles. As indeed he says
in Hosea: "Those who were not my people I will call 'my
people,' and her who was not beloved I will call 'beloved.' And in
the very place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,'
there they shall be called children of the living God." And
Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, "Though the number of the
Israelites were like the sand of the sea, only a remnant will be
saved; for decisively and quickly will the Lord execute sentence
upon the earth." And as Isaiah predicted: "Unless the
Lord of hosts had left us descendants, we would have become like
Sodom and have been made like Gomorrah." |
ROM 10:1-3 |
Brothers, my heart's
desire and prayer to God on their behalf is for salvation. I
testify with regard to them that they have zeal for God, but it is
not discerning. For, in their unawareness of the righteousness
that comes from God and their attempt to establish their own
(righteousness), they did not submit to the righteousness of God. |
ROM 11:5-22 |
So also at the present
time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. But if by grace, it is
no longer because of works; otherwise grace would no longer be
grace. What then? What Israel was seeking it did not attain, but
the elect attained it; the rest were hardened, as it is written:
"God gave them a spirit of deep sleep, eyes that should not
see and ears that should not hear, down to this very day."
And David says: "Let their table become a snare and a trap, a
stumbling block and a retribution for them; let their eyes grow
dim so that they may not see, and keep their backs bent
forever." Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as
I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I glory in my ministry in order
to make my race jealous and thus save some of them. For if their
rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their
acceptance be but life from the dead? If the firstfruits are holy,
so is the whole batch of dough; and if the root is holy, so are
the branches. But if some of the branches were broken off, and
you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in their place and have come
to share in the rich root of the olive tree, do not boast against
the branches. If you do boast, consider that you do not support
the root; the root supports you. Indeed you will say,
"Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted
in." That is so. They were broken off because of unbelief,
but you are there because of faith. So do not become haughty, but
stand in awe. For if God did not spare the natural branches,
(perhaps) he will not spare you either. See, then, the kindness
and severity of God: severity toward those who fell, but God's
kindness to you, provided you remain in his kindness; otherwise
you too will be cut off. |
ROM 12:1-5 |
I urge you therefore,
brothers, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living
sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship. Do
not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the
renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of
God, what is good and pleasing and perfect. For by the grace given
to me I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more
highly than one ought to think, but to think soberly, each
according to the measure of faith that God has apportioned. For as
in one body we have many parts, and all the parts do not have the
same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ and
individually parts of one another. |
ROM 12:9-21 |
Let love be sincere;
hate what is evil, hold on to what is good; love one another with
mutual affection; anticipate one another in showing honor. Do not
grow slack in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice
in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer. Contribute to
the needs of the holy ones, exercise hospitality. Bless those who
persecute (you), bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those
who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Have the same regard for
one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly; do
not be wise in your own estimation. Do not repay anyone evil for
evil; be concerned for what is noble in the sight of all. If
possible, on your part, live at peace with all. Beloved, do not
look for revenge but leave room for the wrath; for it is written,
"Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."
Rather, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty,
give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning
coals upon his head." Do not be conquered by evil but conquer
evil with good. |
ROM 13:1-8 |
Let every person be
subordinate to the higher authorities, for there is no authority
except from God, and those that exist have been established by
God. Therefore, whoever resists authority opposes what God has
appointed, and those who oppose it will bring judgment upon
themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear to good conduct,
but to evil. Do you wish to have no fear of authority? Then do
what is good and you will receive approval from it, for it is a
servant of God for your good. But if you do evil, be afraid, for
it does not bear the sword without purpose; it is the servant of
God to inflict wrath on the evildoer. Therefore, it is necessary
to be subject not only because of the wrath but also because of
conscience. This is why you also pay taxes, for the authorities
are ministers of God, devoting themselves to this very thing. Pay
to all their dues, taxes to whom taxes are due, toll to whom toll
is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is
due. Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another; for the
one who loves another has fulfilled the law. |
ROM 13:11-14 |
And do this because you know the time; it is the hour now for you
to awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we
first believed; the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us
then throw off the works of darkness (and) put on the armor of
light; let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in
orgies and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and licentiousness, not
in rivalry and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and
make no provision for the desires of the flesh. |
ROM 14:1 |
Welcome anyone who is
weak in faith, but not for disputes over opinions. |
ROM 14:10-13,19,23 |
Why then do you judge
your brother? Or you, why do you look down on your brother? For we
shall all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is
written: "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bend
before me, and every tongue shall give praise to God." So
(then) each of us shall give an account of himself (to God). Then
let us no longer judge one another, but rather resolve never to
put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother... Let
us then pursue what leads to peace and to building up one another...whatever
is not from faith is sin. |
ROM 15:1-6 |
We who are strong ought
to put up with the failings of the weak and not to please
ourselves; let each of us please our neighbor for the good, for
building up. For Christ did not please himself; but, as it is
written, "The insults of those who insult you fall upon
me." For whatever was written previously was written for our
instruction, that by endurance and by the encouragement of the
scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and
encouragement grant you to think in harmony with one another, in
keeping with Christ Jesus, that with one accord you may with one
voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
ROM 15:14-16 |
I myself am convinced
about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness,
filled with all knowledge, and able to admonish one another. But I
have written to you rather boldly in some respects to remind you,
because of the grace given me by God to be a minister of Christ
Jesus to the Gentiles in performing the priestly service of the
gospel of God, so that the offering up of the Gentiles may be
acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. |
ROM 15:26-33 |
For Macedonia and Achaia
have decided to make some contribution for the poor among the holy
ones in Jerusalem; they decided to do it, and in fact they are
indebted to them, for if the Gentiles have come to share in their
spiritual blessings, they ought also to serve them in material
blessings. So when I have completed this and safely handed over
this contribution to them, I shall set out by way of you to Spain;
and I know that in coming to you I shall come in the fullness of
Christ's blessing. I urge you, (brothers,) by our Lord Jesus
Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in the struggle
by your prayers to God on my behalf, that I may be delivered from
the disobedient in Judea, and that my ministry for Jerusalem may
be acceptable to the holy ones, so that I may come to you with joy
by the will of God and be refreshed together with you. The God of
peace be with all of you. Amen. |
ROM 16:17-20 |
I urge you, brothers, to
watch out for those who create dissensions and obstacles, in
opposition to the teaching that you learned; avoid them. For such
people do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites, and
by fair and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the
innocent. For while your obedience is known to all, so that I
rejoice over you, I want you to be wise as to what is good, and
simple as to what is evil; then the God of peace will quickly
crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with
you. |

BIG Book of Latin Activities For Catholics
Beginning - Intermediate (Vol. 1)
"Suitable For Children Or
Adults!" ~ "Perfect For Home Schoolers!"
+ + +
As many faithful Catholics already know,
the majestic
Latin language – the 'official language' of the Catholic Church –
promotes unity, helps safeguard the purity of doctrine, connects us with
our Catholic ancestors, allows us to pray in "one voice", and even ties
back to the inscription on the Cross which was written in Hebrew, Latin,
and Greek. The Latin language is still used today in the precious
treasure that is the
Traditional Latin ('Tridentine') Mass, in 'everyday speech' (much of
English is derived from Latin), in mottos, in specialized fields, and in
educational endeavors. It has been shown that the study of Latin brings
many benefits. "And, Latin is truly the language of heaven!"
If you enjoy Latin, you may be glad to know that
this full-sized (8.5" x 11"), tradition-minded publication features an
assortment of activity types related to Latin (including: word searches,
crosswords, coloring activities, challenges, fill-ins, spelling bee,
quizzes, unscrambles, true/false, multiple choice, matching, cross-offs,
circling, word associations, translation exercises, and more...), and
treats of various topics (including: common Latin words, Latin language
facts, Latin grammar, nouns & verbs, abbreviations,
phrases / sayings / mottos, prefixes, cardinal numbers, grammatical gender,
inflection, word roots, diacritics / accenting, pronunciation, Latin
prayers / hymns, Scripture verses, Catholic phrases, and more...).
