No, watching Mass on television does not give the same benefit as attending in person. It is also not possible to receive Holy Communion while watching Mass on TV. Watching Mass on television also does NOT meet one's obligation to attend Mass (assuming there is no sufficient reason for missing Mass). That doesn't mean there is no benefit to watching on television, it's just not the same as attending in person. BTW, when you watch Mass on TV, it is a good idea to make a spiritual communion.
