"The Fatima prayer to
be said [while praying the Rosary] is this: Oh my Jesus, save us from the fire of
Hell, have pity on the most deserted souls in purgatory. Somewhere along the
line it has been changed to: Oh my Jesus save us from the fire of Hell, lead all
souls to Heaven especially those most abandoned. Who dared to change Our most
Blessed Mother's words and leave out Purgatory?"

I am not sure that the
prayer has been 'changed'. I say this for the following reasons...
1. As I understand it,
Sister Lucy herself has confirmed the correct version of the prayer ("O my
Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to
Heaven, especially those who are in most need of Thy mercy.")
2. In the context of
the apparition itself where the children were shown hell, it would seem to make
more sense that the prayer was to lead souls away from hell, rather than for
deserted souls in purgatory (souls who, by the way, will ultimately avoid hell)
Also, please note that
reputable organizations (including the
FSSP) use the
version that does *not* include a reference to purgatory.
Based on the above, I
do not see that this prayer has been changed. Perhaps the other source was
mistaken or perhaps there was a translation error of some sort?
