For some reflections
on use of holy water, see the article in our 5/18 newsletter ("A Dozen
Reflections on Holy Water")
here. The following is from the introduction to this article...
"Holy water is
a very advantageous & easy-to-use sacramental that is utilized both inside and
outside of church. It offers a variety of benefits, possibly even including the
remission of
venial sin. Its use is highly recommended in the home, especially at various
times (e.g. upon rising, going to sleep, and in times of temptation). Along with
the sign of the cross, holy water should be used whenever possible/appropriate
by all Catholics - adults, children, teenagers, pregnant women, elderly, sick
and dying persons, etc. Laity may sprinkle it on themselves, on food, on graves,
and on various other places & objects."
Note: On behalf of
the deceased, also consider the article in our 11/13 newsletter ("An Easy &
Effective Way to Help the Holy Souls) which may be found
here.
