"How many Masses are
being said worldwide at any given time?"

It would be impossible
to provide an accurate figure for this. Most priests say at least one Mass per
day, however not all do (e.g. some may be unable to celebrate Mass due to age or
illness). Also, some concelebrate so this would mean fewer Masses. On the other
hand, some may say more than one Mass per day (particularly on Sunday). Further,
the times of Masses vary (e.g. one might generally expect there to be more
Masses in mid-morning than in the very early morning, late afternoon, or late
evening), there are various time zones, etc. If you wanted to estimate, it would
seem reasonable (to me at least) to start with the total number of priests* and
then divide by 24 (number of hours in a day). Certainly this won't be exact, but
it at least seems reasonable, IMHO. If you're hoping for more accuracy, the
results could be weighted (e.g. one might factor in the most popular Mass times,
the number of priests in various time zones, etc.).
[* Number of
priests from 2010 Pontifical Yearbook: 409,166 in 2008]
