about confession. I haven't been in about a year. To be honest I don't know how
to make a proper confession. Would you please help me?"

You can find
Confession information
here. The links on this page provide a lot of useful information, and I think it is
really worth the time to go through this material. I've actually learned quite a
lot myself. BTW, on the page above, there is a 'Selections from the Baltimore
Catechism' link in the bottom section. I see four lessons dealing with
confession (chapters 17-20). To view those lessons, click the 'Selections From
the Baltimore Catechism' link, then 'Display by Lesson'. Here you can put in
relevant lesson numbers (e.g. 17, 18, 19, 20) and view just those items. They
are in a convenient Q & A format.
Also, you can ask the
priest if you need any additional help with making a good confession. He should
be happy to assist you.
That is wonderful news
about your returning to confession!
Best wishes for God's
blessings.

"In truth, where
confession is, there is worship and there is honor. If there are sins, they are
washed away in confession; if there are good works, they are commended by
confession. When you confess your faults, it is a sacrifice to God of a troubled
spirit; when you confess the benefits of God, you offer to God the sacrifice of
praise. Confession is a fair ornament of the soul, which both cleanses a sinner
and makes the righteous more thoroughly cleansed. Without confession, the
righteous is deemed ungrateful, and the sinner accounted dead." (St. Bernard,
Doctor of the Church)
