No, celibacy is
clearly endorsed in the New Testament. As stated by the Council of Trent...
"If anyone says
that the marriage state is to be preferred to the state of virginity or celibacy
and that it is not better and holier to remain in virginity or celibacy than to
be joined in marriage...let him be anathema."
