We are very sorry to
hear of your distress, but please keep in mind that God can forgive ABSOLUTELY
ANYTHING if you are truly sorry. Please remember that Jesus came down to save
sinners – we are ALL sinners. Regardless of the gravity of your sins and the
mistakes you may have made in your life, your Father in heaven loves you dearly
and will forgive you if you are truly sorry. You are His child and He wants you
to be with Him forever. Don't forget that the Lord Jesus shed every drop of His
precious blood to save you from your sins – that is how much He loves you. If
you have committed serious sin, you really do need to get to Confession and
receive absolution from the priest. The priest has the power – given by Christ
himself – to forgive sin. Go to Confession and trust in God's great mercy. When
you receive absolution from the priest, the gates of heaven are unlocked for
you! Remember that God longs for your salvation and is willing and ready to
forgive all your sins. He loves you and makes it so easy to get forgiveness –
just be truly sorry and go to Confession, properly disposed. After you receive
absolution, the great burden of sin is off you – you are forgiven. (Of course
you must also do penance the priest gives you.) Then, you can start fresh and
make better choices, by the grace of God. Make this the start of a new, better
life where you will be a more faithful follower of Jesus. Remember always that
Jesus loves you dearly and wants you with Him forever in heaven after He calls
you from this life. It doesn't matter how many or how terrible your sins are –
Jesus can forgive every single one of them! He died to do so! Turn away from
them now, and get to Confession.

"Our faults are like a
grain of sand beside the great mountain of the mercies of the good God." (St.
John Vianney)
"God is such an
inexhaustible wellspring of boundless mercy and natural goodness that never was
there a devoted mother who as willingly stretched out her hand to her own child
that she had carried under her heart, seeing it in a raging fire, as God does to
the penitent, even if it were possible that he had the sins of all men himself
and committed them a thousand times every day." (Bl. Henry Suso)
