A very good priest I
know recommends conditional baptism for all converts as the "safest course". If
you have not heard of a conditional baptism, it is like a regular baptism, but
the priest says something like "IF you are not baptized, I baptize you...". If
you were validly baptized to begin with, the conditional baptism has no effect
whatsoever. If you were not baptized, the conditional baptism would be your
actual baptism. It cannot hurt to have a conditional baptism, there is no
downside. Please note that a convert is not receiving baptism "again",
since a person can only receive baptism once.
