Choosing a patron
saint for
Baptism or
Confirmation is a very personal decision. You might consider saints you feel
a special attachment to, saints whose feasts fall on your special days (e.g.
birthday), saints you especially admire, saints who share similar interests as
you, saints with similar characteristics as you, saints whose lives you
particularly want to emulate, saints recommended to you, saints with a long
history of efficacious intercession, etc. Since you will henceforth bear the
saint's name, you might also consider saints with names you particularly like

While our site does
have a variety of materials, we would consider these resources as only a
starting point in the selection of a patron saint. When engaged the important
activity of selecting a lifelong patron, we would suggest additional research
(e.g. at library, on other worthy websites, etc.).
Finally we suggest
documenting your choice, and reasons for your choice, so you won't ever forget (e.g.
many decades from now). You
might also consider obtaining a medal, holy card, image, etc. of your new patron.
May God guide you
in your selection and bless you with a highly cherished & benevolent life-long
patron!
