Can a priest make a
Mass more "liberal" or "conservative" or are all Masses the same?

In the
Traditional Latin Mass, a priest following the rubrics could not make the
Mass either more liberal or more conservative (without regard to the sermon). No
matter where a Catholic attends Mass, the Traditional Latin Mass should
essentially be the same. On the other hand, the
Novus Ordo (New Order) Mass of the 1960's imposed on the Church after
the
Second Vatican Council allows far more flexibility and
permits individual priests to adapt the Mass to more liberal or more
conservative mentalities. Such adaptations have the unfortunate consequence of
dividing the faithful into different "camps of belief" – as well as introducing
confusion and making it harder for the faithful to identify improper practices
on the part of the priests.

It is still possible – thanks be to God! – to lawfully attend the Traditional
Latin Mass. The Traditional Latin ('Tridentine') Mass differs from the 1960's
Novus Ordo Mass in many & significant ways (try
