Thank you for your
support of our apps. We're sorry for the confusion you experienced. To answer
your questions, please first note that the
entries with "N/A" are tips (see the signpost at left bearing the word "TIP").
As indicated in the app's description, the app contains "100+ Tips For Locating
Related Passages (including those related to defending the Catholic faith among
'Jehovah's Witnesses' & Mormons)". As indicated in the help screen "Tips are
provided for users' convenience to help locate records that may be applicable to
given topics. Tips do not contain scripture." For your convenience, please note
that tips should contain a small signpost image at left that says "TIP'. You
NEVER need to tap on a 'Tip' row. They are just suggestions for possible topics
that may contain relevant scripture.
Looking at your
specific example ("Bible Alone"), I see two tips, namely...
* Bible Alone: See
Oral Tradition
* Bible Alone: See
Scripture
For the first of
these, tap 'O' for Oral Tradition. You should then see several relevant
passages. Tap on applicable row to view scripture for this topic.
For the second item
above, tap 'S' for Scripture. In this case, since the records are alphabetical,
you will need to scroll down to view the topic 'Scripture'. Again, there are a
few relevant passages (tap to view scripture). There are also two additional
Tips, one being 'Oral Tradition' and the other being 'Tradition'. To view the
latter, tap 'T' for scripture related to topic 'Tradition'. Again,
you NEVER
need to tap on a 'Tip' row. They are just suggestions for possible topics that
may contain relevant scripture. If you already see the applicable tip, it's
often easiest (by design) to simply tap the first letter of the topic suggested
in the tip (e.g. 'O' for 'Oral Tradition').
Regarding searches,
you might want to type 'Scripture' into the search bar to see relevant passages.
If you type 'Bible', it lists several tips. Again, the tips do NOT contain
scripture. Rather, the tips help you find related scripture passages. So using
the above example, if you enter 'Bible' in the search bar, you may see tips
like...
Bible Alone: See Oral
Tradition
Bible Alone: See
Scripture
Bible: See Scripture
You can either go back
to the index and tap on 'O' or 'S' for the above items (for 'Oral Tradition' or
'Scripture'), or you can just type in any of these words (i.e. 'oral',
'tradition', 'scripture') in the search bar to view related scripture.
Please keep in mind
that tips are marked "N/A" because tips are to point you to potentially relevant
scripture. Since tips do not contain scripture, there is no passage to indicate
(therefore the scripture passage must be 'N/A'). I think you may begin to
appreciate the 'ample' amount of tips when you are more familiar with the app.
For example, should you be talking with a 'Jehovah's Witness', tap on 'J' and
you should see a couple passages plus four tips. These tips may be great memory
aids to remind you that 'Jehovah's Witness' may reject Christ's divinity, hell &
the Trinity.
Also, just like in a
textbook, there may be a variety of references pointing a reader to the same
passage. For example, a book on Jesus that contains information on the Blessed
Virgin Mary may reference the same pages on Mary in different manners (e.g.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus, Mary, etc.) in order to
assist readers find the information they seek regardless of which term they
might use to seek that information. Likewise in this app there can be so many
ways to reference things that using tips helps avoids duplication, thereby
giving the app a smaller fingerprint (e.g. saves room on your device). As
indicated earlier, I think you may begin to appreciate the 'ample' amount of
tips when you are more familiar with the app. It's actually one of the selling
features of the app. I do apologize that the tips seem to have caused some
confusion. I hope the above may help clarify matters.
